The lamp is gorgeous and very sturdy. It is not only a lamp, it's a piece of art! The finish is brushed steel, which is just what I wanted to match other items in my home. It is well made and goes great with contemporary and/or transitional furnishings. Although it takes one 150 watt bulb, the two-position switch enables you to change the brightness of the lamp up or down to suit your needs. It's too bad that my experience with the seller tarnished what would have otherwise been a 5 star purchase. Be aware that this item comes shipped in 2 separate boxes- lamp and lampshade. This is not mentioned in the listing. I received the wrong lampshade and I knew it without even opening the box because the item numbers on the boxes did not match. I ordered the lamp in stainless steel with a white cloud shade, but the lampshade delivered was dark bronze. When I asked them to send the correct shade, I was told it would take almost another month before it could be delivered. What that says to me is that they never had the complete lamp in stock, but just sent out whatever was hanging around the warehouse, rather than telling me it was out of stock. When I objected to the new delivery time-frame and wanted to return it, they were going to charge me for shipping both ways, despite the fact that it was their error. I had to file an A-Z Guarantee claim to get anyone to take appropriate action to get me the lampshade that I should have received from the start. ... show more

This lamp is in a word, beautiful. It is well made and adds interest to the room. Much nicer than most torchiere lamps. However, the description of the lamp says the switch is a 3-way, and it is NOT. It just turns the light on and off -- a 3 way bulb adds nothing. This is very disappointing, but we are making do. Just a word to the wise, in case that feature is important to you. ... show more

Very nice looking lamp but one of the screws has bad thread. Packaging material creating a mess - whole room was full of small statically charged small pieces. Somehow fixed bad screw to avoid shipping back.

I love this lamp. I bought the same exact lamp 20 years ago at a furniture store. The bottom eventually crumbled so the lamp was not stable. I ordered a new one because I still have a table lamp that matches and I like the way it looks.

Very nice quality ... looks better in person than shown in the pics. I was so pleased with the first one, I ordered a second for another room of the house. After shopping for some time, I feel these are an excellent value for something with more character than the typical torchiere style lamp.
