I have owned numerous high-end, luxury executive chairs and I give this Linsy Home chair 5 stars. I have been using this chair every day for a month now and feel comfortable sharing my opinions. I almost didn’t buy it because of some of the negative reviews but I am so glad that I did. I will address my perception of and counter many of the negative reviews in a moment, but first, what I love about this chair. 1. It is truly ergonomic and fits my body well. I am a 6’1” athletic male for reference. With my back all the way back in the chair, I still have 4” between the front of the seat and the back of my knee so it should fit a shorter person as well. 2. The lumbar support is adjustable and fits my back extremely well fully extended. 3. The neck support is also adjustable and perfectly supports my head and neck when I recline in the chair. 4. The rubber skate wheels slide across the floor with ease. I have wood floors and because the wheels are rubber, I was able to remove the plastic floor protector I always had to use with previous chairs. 5. The fabric is breathable! Every desk chair I have owned over the past 30+ years has been leather and made me hot and sweaty, especially in the summer months. 6. The armrests are adjustable fours ways and although I was leery about them being made of plastic, I find them very comfortable. In addition, they will not wear out and the leather crack, as all of my previous chairs did over time. I find myself adjusting them differently depending on what I am doing at my desk or for others of different stature when using the chair. 7. The reclining of this chair is tension adjustable every bit as good as any of my previously owned luxury executive chairs. 8. The range of the height of the chair is higher than any previously owned chair. My desk height is 31” with the knee height being 26” from the floor to the bottom of the center, desk drawer. So at maximum height, it is higher than I need and would easily work for a normal height table or desk without a drawer at maximum height. 9. Customer Service was responsive. Unfortunately the pneumatic lift for my original purchase had a very slow leak that would allow the chair to lose the set height. Contact with Linsy Home worked best through Amazon’s support links and even with the time zone difference they addressed the problem with a replacement. ADDRESSING NEGATIVE REVIEWS Again these are my opinions as I address things people said that almost made me not buy this chair. SQUEEKY: I HATE a squeaky chair because I often work in my office hours before anyone else in the house gets up. This chair has NO SQUEEKS! Because the chair uses an in-line skate-type rubber wheel, when your wheels switch directions on my hardwood floors, they make a slight noise (that might could be described as a squeak) until all 5 wheels point the same direction to move. This is not a negative for me. In fact, it is probably a positive because the wheels glide so easily across the floor, when I am positioned in front of the desk, the wheels lock themselves into place until I push away from the desk. TOO HARD: This chair is firm. As I previously stated I owned many cushy luxury chairs and I DO NOT find this chair too hard. I can sit in this chair for 8 hours a day with NO discomfort. It is a suspended woven fabric so it has to be taunt enough to support the weight of a person sitting in it. The front of the chair has some extra padding beneath the fabric for additional comfort. RECLINE: People that complain about it reclining to easily, when they don’t want it too, obviously have not adjusted the tension for the reclining mechanism. You can tighten it so it won’t recline at all if you want. SEAT TOO SMALL: The specifications clearly state the seat size as 21” wide and 19” deep and not mad specifically for big and tall persons. The armrests do adjust wide for a larger body person, but the seat is still just 21” wide. If you bottom spreads wider than that, this chair might not be the best for you. For a person of average height and weight, I think this chair will fit you fine. CHEAP ARMRESTS: Yes…the plastic material concerned me before buying it but this is a non-issue for me. My elbows often got irritated from padded leather or fabric covered armrests over time. These armrests are well thought out. Aside from the wide range of adjustability, the surface of the armrest is a nice texture that does not irritate bare skin and they have a very subtle dimple in the top where your elbow properly rests when using it. FABRIC SMELLS: I have a very sensitive nose and I am allergic to most perfumes. The fabric did have a strong manufacturing odor when new and I also found it irritating the first day. A simple solution for me was to set it outside in the sun and breeze for about 6 hours the next day and that took care of the problem. The chair had a very faint smell for about a week and none after that. You can stick your nose right up to the fabric and smell nothing now. In my opinion, this was not a reason not to buy it or for someone to return it. I think I addressed everything I like about this chair and everything that almost made me not buy it.     • Decent chair, headrest is iffy

My big problem with this chair is that the headrest juts forward noticably from the chair. Maybe some people don't notice this, but I have upper back and neck issues and slight hunchback, so it's a big deal. You can just not attach the headrest of course, but by that point I'd rather just get a different chair with a better fitting headrest. I would say don't buy if you're trying to reverse bad posture in your neck. Otherwise it's a decent chair for the price. ... show more

    • Not the Best for Most, Ideal for Some

I am 6'3" 200 lbs. This chair is too big for me. It is NOT for small persons. I would think a person who is 6'5" or more might fit it. Also, it probably fits chunky, wide people. I am not chunky. I recommend this chair for large people -- tall and/or wide. My daughter, 5'10", cannot touch her feet to the floor when seated normally with the chair at the bottom of its travel. LIKES: The arms are very adjustable for width, height, and armrest angle. If weight=strength, this chair will last into the next century. It weighs a ton and seems well-made. Assembly was easy. I would wait to install the arms until the chair back is installed. I trapped my leg and couldn't move or stand once I bolted on the back. Have a sense of humor. It will help. I liked that they included reasonable tools and extra bolts of both sizes. DISLIKES: The seat has a wide spot that is a bit wide for my sitter and a narrow spot that is too narrow for my sitter. I always felt twisted to the side. A cushion may help. The casters are VERY responsive and send you skittering rapidly across the floor. You may crash into furniture and walls trying to push the chair away from your desk on a hard floor. Be gentle. The 'lumbar support' left me in pain at night after work. It hits too high on my spine. (Again, I am 6'3") The recline feature is fine IF you lie back at your work and have a footstool. Beware the casters as they can dump you on your head in reclined positions because small movements result in super-fast trips across the room. Overall, a good chair if you are tall or broad. It showed up broken, unfortunately I did not notice until I was just finishing assembly. Reached out to the company who wanted a lot of photos, amazon will only return. Secondly, this is made for a larger person and does not go very low... thankfully it will fit the arms under the desk but barely. We will see how the company does on their warranty. I'll update as needed. week update: The customer service was great, they 2 day shipped the broken part from CHINA. Very happy with the interaction., the only reason this chair is getting 4 instead of 5 stars is because it is very tall. within range but not as good as it could be. ... show more

Received an in a box and was not damaged! Assembly was not difficult. Materials did not feel cheaply made and felt nice and sturdy. Maybe 20 minutes to assemble or less. Like the wheels on this chair, rolls very smooth on hardwood floors.

It's not bad but it's not the most comfortable chair. I don't love the way it curves up - it puts pressure on my thighs in a weird way (I'm not stick thin but I'm not that big either). The back support doesn't hit me in the best way. But it's more comfortable than my old chair so I'll live with it for now. ... show more

Addendum to my 1st review. We received a new replacement chair due to a defective back rest mesh. The company was very responsive to our problem and the new chair has been holding up fine. I'm happy with the chair and the company.
