I put these in the overhead light in my office / hobby / game room. Setup went pretty smoothly. I was annoyed that I needed to set up a cloud account with AIdot. I haven't yet checked the traffic to see if they depend on the cloud, but I'm going to assume they do for now - which means no controlling them when the internet is out. It really shouldn't be necessary to have an internet service sit between my phone and wi-fi light bulbs that are 10 feet apart on the same network. Anyway, aside from that, getting the bulbs set up in the app was dead simple. I also did a factory rest and re-imported them just for giggles and that was also very easy. Three of these are plenty bright in a normal bedroom-sized room. I can easily switch between soft white while I'm working, to daylight when I'm pulling a computer apart, to "mood" lighting when I'm gaming. They do not work with Home Assistant right now and I couldn't find any indication that support was being worked on. Strangely, I did get SmartThings alerts on my phone about the new devices, but I'm not sure how or why - my SmartThings hub hasn't been connected for months and the app is not even installed on my phone. It would be fantastic if HA supported these since I'm trying to get to a single-pane-of-glass interface for my home automation. At ~$13/per bulb (list price without coupons or discounts) they're maybe a little overpriced. Coupons and deals are pretty easy to find on these bulbs on Amazon though. ... show more

We have a lot of smart devices in our home. I mean a lot. You can control most things in my home remotely and by voice command. We have used several smart bulbs over the years. Different brands with different, all connected to our various smart speakers. These bulbs were so easy to set up. They connected to our echo devices seamlessly. I love all of the different scenes in the app. Although I will not likely use the feature of having them react to music, it is certainly a fun little feature. I have these in my bedroom and have them set to turn on slowly in the morning to wake me up. It has been so much more pleasant than an alarm clock. We recently had some kind of outage for all of our devices while we were on vacation and had a difficult time getting most things back online, but these bulbs actually were the first things to start working again with little effort on our part. ... show more

I'm new to a smart home. That said, these were pretty easy to set-up in the app. Alexa works great with them as well, allowing you to change the colors, etc with-in Alexa. They do vibe with the music & there are themes for colors. I like the various shades of white & yellow light way more then any other bulbs that give you that light spectrum. I do not have a hub yet but the apps on my phone works fine so far. Also, the light I put these in has a remote. No, the remote will not work with these bulbs. It needs the smart bulb that the lamp came with for the remote to work so it's a good way to replace the bulb & ditch a remote if your smart bulb dies in your remote control lamp. ... show more
