This was horrible!!!!! To put up. Each light has its own 2 wires which means there 16 wires, plus the grounding wire all to connect to the other 2 wires and grounding wire. So you have about 20 wires to try to connect. It wouldn't be super complicated, accept the area to hold all those wires is so small that all those wires push up on the 2 bolts that need to hold the plate together. It took both my husband and I a solid 4 hours to make all the wires stay put so the bolts could stay put. This is NOT a DIY. If you must, hire an electrician to put it up. We got it to work, but honestly, I'm so mad at it, I don't even like the way it looks anymore. ... show more

I ALMOST didn't buy this because of the reviews. I must've got the easy one because I'm not skilled in any wiring or lights but this was easy. Even in a trailer where the wires are so clumped you don't know which "white" cord is the right one (there are 3) My box also came with a "jumper cord" which sounds like it would've solved nearly everyone's issue with fitting 8 wires on to one. I took each if the 8 tiny wires and wrapped them around the jumper and taped them tight with electrical tape. Then the black. Then wired to ceiling, capped those and put on screw caps. Boom. Maybe a hour tops. It was cheap to purchase in comparative and solid materials. Very happy. ... show more

While the product is as anticipated, installing was the challenge, as most reviewers state. A few tips to ease the installation. The long black and white sleeved wire, cut it to about the length of the ground wire....no need to stuff 8" of extra wire into junction box. I added approx 1/4" spacers between the mounting plate and the junction box, thus creating slightly more space to stuff all those wires. Once wired, I crammed everything except the extension wire into the junction box, and the light mount slid right into place. ... show more

Overall, this is a beautiful fixture. However, putting it together and installing it was very difficult. The fixture comes in pieces so you have to put the entire thing together, which wasn’t the hard part. The instructions that were sent was just a small 4x5 piece of paper with 2 pictures on it. The first picture has all the pieces of the fixture labeled with letters so you know which piece goes where. But the pieces of the fixture itself are not labeled, so you still have to figure out which piece goes with what letter (which kinda makes the idea of the letter labels useless). Once you have the fixture put together, there are several wires that need to be arranged. The second picture on the instructions is showing you how to put those together, but that picture is very vague and doesn’t explain anything. My husband had to get on YouTube to find a video for a similar fixture to figure out how to get it all wired. Once he got that figured out, it was time to install. We had a difficult time tucking all those wires up into the ceiling and then getting it fixed into place. I would say the entire process from start to finish took us 3 1/2 hours. I would not buy this again, but it was worth it and sure looks beautiful in my dining area. ... show more

This light looks great and is an excellent value. Assembly is a bit inconvenient because the little nuts are very unforgiving and will cross-thread if you're not careful (make sure you keep them the right way up) and you have to tighten them down a pretty good amount so the arms don't move around too much. Also, once you get all the wires fixed together, it gets pretty tight inside the base, and getting everything to sandwich together and the bolts to stick through to put the final nuts onto is unpleasant. Not difficult or anything, just awkward. I highly recommend having a second person up on a ladder with you to support the light, it will be infinitely easier that way. I used some GE LED lights with it, and it looks amazing and gives my office a nice wide, warm light. ... show more

I like this light fixture. It was a bit of a pain to assemble (tedious), but not difficult. The biggest problem however was mounting it to the ceiling box. The machine screws that are provided on the mounting fixture are just 1/4” too short and made for a very frustrating install. If your j-box is recessed into the ceiling at all, it will be nigh impossible to get the mounting nuts engaged with the screw threads. Another point of complaint would be the wire connector bus (x1) supplied with the light is only for 6 wires, not the 8 required for all legs. And they only supplied one, not two for both the hot and neutral wires. ... show more

ugh it's now 10 bucks cheaper. Any who! it was a bit of a pain to put together, made my fingers sore twisting the bolts or is it a nut? any who! then to put it up i had to macgyvera a bracket to bracket to get it to line up straight with the ceiling and not off to the side if i aligned it with the ceiling box. provides a lot of light, which is so amazing and perfect! i put in a dimmer and it could not love it more. just was pain to put up. i also bought the 4 light for my laundry room, not sure who that is by but i'll write a review. ... show more

Great product! It was a pain to install, but worth it not having to hire an electrician. The main issue was that one of the tabs in the socket wasnt pushed up enough. Even when I called my handyman and told him the issue, that my voltage meter detected electricity, but still it wouldn't work, he was stumped. So, googling common problems saved the day. It was made extra confusing because getting all 8 wires wrapped around one connector is kinda tough. So I thought maybe it just wasnt connecting?? But the voltage meter doesnt lie. So, after some fumbling, I learned some electricity basics, and have a super sweet dining room fixture :-) ... show more
