Backlighting nice and pleasant and useful when using in dim areas - you have a choice of different colors and brightness levels. The touchpad works good as does the keypad - comfortable, accurate, smooth but deliberate feel to the keys. You will need to keep a charging cable with you, it will run down while you are on the plane. It does not work while you have it plugged in charging. You can put a charge on it in a short period that allows you to keep working, however.

This keyboard is flawless with one exception. It mates perfectly with my Surface Pro 9 and has always paired and worked perfectly. The backlighting is very nice, the feel of the keys are very good also, and the battery lasts a long time. The one thing that could use improvement is the sound of the space bar, which gives a good clunk when used. You don't realize how much you use a space bar until it's the loudest sound in the room.
