Got this mattress topper a few years ago. Never had any big accidents and so haven't written the review. Finally got curious to see how well it would work. When I poured roughly a couple tablespoons of water on it and felt the mattress underneath, it was dry. When I poured about 3/4 cup of water on it, I did feel some wetness on the mattress. Interesting though is that it seems as the though fluid clings to the topper - so while the topper takes the most of it, if it's still in contact with the mattress for longer duration, it will get the mattress wet. So I think if you want to use it just for stain protection or light accidents (like leakage through diapers), it would work just fine. But if you want to protect it against an outright pee accident or a pregnant lady's water breaking, it probably won't hold up enough. If you remove it immediately you might be able to do some damage control. I do really like that it is not noisy and crinkly and I forget it's there. I really enjoy using this liner for my king size mattress. I've already had a couple of accidents where something would spill and the liner would protect my mattress. Very impressed that it works so well even though it is very thin. It seems to hold up well and doesn't slip off from the corners.
