    • MUCH softer than factory pad on Mossberg 590a1
Despite the product name, this is the same product as the Limbsaver Precision Fit Recoil Pad, which is printed on the packaging. It is an outstanding product--MUCH softer and more shock absorbing than the pad that comes from the factory on the Mossberg 590a1. I was getting a very mild soreness in my shoulders after putting 50 rounds at a time through my shotgun. It wasn't too bad, but this pad eliminated that. I could probably shoot 75 - 100 rounds now without becoming sore, and the recoil feels more muted. It's not an enormous improvement, but certainly noticeable enough to be a worthwhile upgrade. This part number (#10121) is the SMALLER of the two Mossberg-sized pads that Limbsaver makes. I had a full size synthetic stock, which would normally take the larger pad size. However, I wanted to reduce the length of pull for more comfortable shouldering of the weapon. I cut approximately one inch off the length of the stock in my table saw (using a 60 tpi fine cut blade). That shortened the length of pull nicely and reduced the end dimensions of the stock to 4-7/8" tall x 1-9/16" wide--EXACTLY the size the 10121 pad is designed to fit. Since I had cut off an inch of stock, I had to use an 1/8" drill bit to deepen the upper screw hole in the stock. I also had to drill a new lower hole (about 3/16" lower on the stock end than the factory hole). It worked great. I have a shorter length of pull and a much softer (Limbsaver) pad that fits so closely you would assume it came that way from the factory. If you look very closely at either side, there is about a fingernail's width of overlap where the stock is slightly wider than the pad for about 1-1/2" because the profile of the stock bulges just a bit more than the profile of the pad. It's so slight that even I--a confirmed perfectionist--am still totally pleased with the results. Simply put, it makes the entire shooting experience a little more comfortable. ... show more

    • Tikka T3 Lite Perfect Match
Used previous reviews of Limbsaver SAKO 75/FINLIGHT SYN BUTT PAD to determine it was correct match for my new Tikka T3 Lite rifle which turned out to be correct advice. Good fit for my 7mm Rem Mag. I first resisted this purchase as I've never before had issues with rifle recoil and it seemed like a wimpy thing to do, however I changed my mind when I found this rifle to have most recoil of any of my magnum rifles. If you only sight in and hunt, this may not be the case for you. I reload and often put many rounds down range when attempting to develop the "perfect" load. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but the 7mm Rem Mag was putting a hurt on my shoulder during this process. I believe this was do to the "LITE" synthetic stock when compared to heavier wood stocks on my 308 Norma Mag and 30-06 Ackley Improved rifles that seem assist with recoil and accuracy. This is my second Tikka after previously bought 243 for which the accuracy was phenomenal. I'll make a long story short by saying the Limbsaver made the 7mm Rem Mag comfortable to shoot (compared to the pretty hard factory butt pad) which allowed me to re-focus on my shooting techniques which returned accuracy to what I had expected for the rifle. I would NOT buy Limbsaver for lower recoil calibers. I find factory pad is fine for 243. Hope this helps other Tikka owners. ... show more

Mounted this on my .30-06 Tikka T3 Lite and it made a world of difference. Fits great, and looks like it's supposed to be there. Way better than the stock pad. There is a dramatic reduction in recoil. Being such a light rifle, the stock pad was just way too hard. I found that I was starting to flinch when shooting, that's when I bought this pad. It's not too soft or too grippy, like some pads that are jelly-like. It is firm enough that you can trust it as a firm anchor point, but soft enough that it really spreads out the force throughout your shoulder. It also is less pointed on the bottom that the stock pad, which is a plus for me since I tend to mount the stock a little high on my shoulder. I highly recommend this pad. Limbsaver says it will fit remington synthetic stock. It requires grinding with a dremil to fit. Took about an hour to fit the pad. I don't believe it will reduce recoil by 70 percent. It is better than the hard rubber pad remington had on the stock. This limbsaver is going on a 338 winchester mag caliber remington rifle. Hope it helps. ... show more

Considerable difference between this pad cushion and stock. You only notice the aftermath after shooting quite a few rounds though this at a time. With stock butt pad you would see printing on your shoulder from recoil. Some might even bruise. With this pad no printing or bruising after 35 rounds in one range trip (80% were rifled slugs) don't expect to feel a huge difference right away after first few shots. You'll feel the difference latter that day or next day. Easy to install although better instructions would be nice. For Benelli supernova you need to remove stock but pad, insert plastic limbsaver white mounting plate sideways to get past outer lip of butt stick then pull mounting plate to you so it sits between outer and inner lip right inside butt stock. It won't fall out unless you turn the mounting plate. Then insert both screws into limbsaver pad all the way through. Then start one screw into mounting plate. Was easier to turn pad so only one screw matched up while ur other hand used a finger to pull mounting plate against lip of butt stock. Then swing pad to line up other screw and crank it down. ... show more

Holy cow, This Limbsaver pad was made for the Remington 870 Marine Magnum. It fit it perfectly. I used the screws from the original pad which had actually melted. I guess from old age. Awesome shotgun, but the original pad just melted. This Limbsaver (Part number 10101) was not to hard to find, so that is why I specifically say it fits a 870 Marine Magnum. the fit on my Tikka T3 Hunter (wood stock) isn't an EXACT flush fit. But it is flush for the most part, so it didn't bother me since it's barely noticeable. What's really important is, did it help with recoil the way it said it will? The answer is definitely yes. The T3 comes stock with a VERY stiff recoil pad, and after 20-25 rounds in the .308 model, me and my buddy were definitely suffering. Between the both of us, we had 60 rounds, and left 7-10 rounds in the box. We were both bruised and sore for a week. With this limb saver, I put 47 rounds through my rifle today with ease. I was able to fire round after round with minimal pain. Am I a little bit sore after the trip to the range? Sure, but no more than you would expect after nearly 50 rounds in a high powered rifle. Things to mention, that extra little piece in the picture is not included, and screws are not included. You should be able to simply use your old screws anyways. If you butt stock is not screwed onto your rifle, you should buy a slip on limb saver. They sell those, I just don't like to cover up the beautiful wooden stock on my rifle. ... show more
