  • Love it.
Style: In-Ground
Exactly what I was looking for. You will need two people to fully assemble. Very pleased

  • Quality Basketball Hoop for Driveway
Style: In-Ground
This arrived in millions of pieces, box was almost destroyed, and had TON of extra pieces (better than not enough right?)... BUT I love this for my son. Make sure you have help doing this or pay a professional (you'll need someone to assemble, multiple people to lift and put into ground, someone to cement it, it's heavy). We love this and it's THE best investment we have made for the teen boy in our lives. We went from tiny foam basketballs on the plastic tacked to the wall style hoop, to the metal back steel hoop with mini ball that gets hung over the closet door, to this. I love that my son has always been able to adjust the height of this all on his own. I love that he can change the height when he wants for me (mom who couldn't do so well last year) to his friends who might not play often and need the height change. I love arriving home every night after work and seeing him in the driveway playing...then mom jumps in and we have some great quality time together. He's gone tough on it, and it's been a quality product. A pain to put together, but worth it in the end. Glad we made this purchase for his birthday 2 years ago when he turned 12. That weekend we put it in, we had a dozen boys over for a birthday party and they played all night. :) ... show more

  • Great Hoop!
Style: In-Ground
Great hoop! I ended up digging the hole 36" deep and 18" wide to get below the frost line and it took ten 80lb bags of concrete to fill the hole. Luckily i dont love far from a home improvement store! The directions call for five bags but I don't see how five bags could ever be enough concrete even if you only dig a 24" deep hole as recommended. Other than that I followed the directions and everything went together smoothly. Read everything carefully and locate the hardware and tools needed before you begin each step. I assembled the hoop by myself, using saw horses to elevate the backboard during assembly instead of laying it on cardboard as recomended. The only part I needed a second adult for was mounting the hoop assembly to the pole cemented into the ground, it's very top heavy and awkward. I was surprised how sturdy this hoop is. Everything seems well built and decent quality....time will tell I guess. The adjustment is really nice, adjusts easily with one hand and locks into position securely. I was pondering getting a larger size backboard but this one is easily big enough. I wouldn't justify the extra money to get a couple inches larger backboard. The backboard is thin but seems sturdy. I definitely don't think dunking on the hoop would hurt it but I wouldn't want anybody hanging on the rim. Overall, I would buy this hoop again and I anticipate it lasting a good long time! ... show more

  • Decent unit

Decent basketball goal. Why spend thousands? In ground unit works. All parts packaged and organized. Worth every cent and wont blow over during higher winds.

  • Perfect for family basketball
Style: In-Ground
2015 Update: Still as good as new. Love this thing! Original Review: We bought this last Spring and it has really held up over the last year. We live in an area that is extremely windy during the winter months and the board looks the same as it did a year ago. The handle is easy for my 9 year old to adjust the height and the range is big enough the we can drop it down for my 6 year old to play. Excellent value for the money. Looks very nice and does not look cheap like some others I've seen. I think we will get many more years of use out of this hoop. Install tip--buy a multidirectional post level if you don't already have one. We had no problems ensuring that the post was installed straight using that level. Oh yeah--we also bought the ground sleeve so we have the option to take it out in case we ever have some sort of event in our backyard or if we ever need to remove it for some other reason. I'm happy I bought the sleeve so we have the option although we've never needed to remove it so far. Enjoy! ... show more

  • For the price it can't be beat.
Style: In-Ground
(Although not recommended by the instruction manual...)You can build this by yourself, well at least 99% of it. I built and installed it by myself over the course of two weekends. With only needing the help of my 9 year old son once when lifting the entire upper portion to help guide it into the ground pole. The first weekend plan to dig and install the ground pole into the concrete, letting the concrete dry until the next weekend. Then simply build and install the the pole and upper backboard assembly. The box is big and bulky but it got through UPS. Even though the outside box was beaten to shreds, luckily nothing was missing. For the price of this system I couldn't be happier, the backboard is just the right size, not to small and not overwhelming. You can adjust it from about 7.5 feet for little kids to 10 feet. I usually find that 9-9.5 is the most fun and stable height. Since at 10' the board is above the top of the pole and it seems like the pole sways to much when the ball hits the backboard. ... show more

  • Great hoop for the money
Style: In-Ground
Followed the instructions carefully and had no problems. Did find 2 errors in the instructions(which hardware to use where; also how the safety edging should installed around the backboard), but after reading over several times, it wasn't a problem. Was able to build almost all of it by myself until close to the end where 2 people are definitely required. Take your time on setting the base pole and let the concrete cure for at least 3 days to insure a solid set. Making the base pole square to the playing surface and true vertically was simple by following the instructions. Do not try the final assembly and setting the goal upright by yourself! For the money, this goal is exactly what we were looking for. The height adjustment is very easy and the board is fairly tight. There is some vibration and noise, but it's to be expected on a single pole system. ... show more
