Hard to imagine a better hoop for the price. EASY ASSEMBLY: It says 2-3 hours for two adults to put together. I’m an average guy who knows how to turn a wrench, and my seven year old and I got it put together in an hour and fifteen minutes from opening the box to shooting hoops, easy. The longest part was filling the base with sand (you’ll need a funnel for that). ASSEMBLY TIPS: It’s simple to put together, but the instructions are not very clear about a few things. There are three main cylindrical sections to the stand that telescope together to form one long tube. Pay close attention to the orientation of each. The printed instructions are not quite enough to distinguish between the sections, but there’s a QR code that takes you to an assembly video. Look closely at the video and you’ll see where the holes should be aligned. Get the alignment right before you tap the tubes on the ground; that step locks the tubes together. There’s a step where you bend some metal parts. Let your kid do that - they’ll feel like super man. OVERALL THOUGHTS: Remember - this hoop doesn’t have a spring, so dunks are not gonna work. The backboard is small. The whole thing isn’t super sturdy because it’s lightweight. But by golly it’s a basketball hoop, and it’s cheap, easy to move, and easy to put together! My 4 year old also can play basketball now.This is a very good quality product and also well engineered. Many complained about its manual. Please don't read it much before you start assembling but read it while doing it. These are simple instructions basically to identify the nuts and bolts and when and where to use them. The back of the nuts and bolts pack has the actual size drawings and they are also labeled use this for easy understanding. Things to remember; 1) First assemble the rods. 2) The single rod should be placed down (the side which is closed is the bottom of the pole) 3) Middle of the pole is the double rod. The label side should go up. The screws that are used in this step are not for fixing the rods but only to stop them from moving beyond a certain point. 4) Make a clear marking on the top end of the inside rod of the double rod. I repeat the rod and not the plastic cover and that too before this rod is pulled out from the outer rod. This avoids the confusion of which end goes back into the outer rod. IF THE WRONG END OF THIS ROD GETS FIXED IN THE OUTER ROD THE POLE GOES WASTE. 5) The brackets are very strong but first fix them to the board with the bottom and the middle screws and then bend the brackets. This how it should be done. The instructions manual is simple. Please follow it. 6) You can either fix the board, hoop and the top end of the inside rod (where you make the marking) and then fix that into the middle rod you can do according to the instructions manual but for this you'll need another helping hand. I first fixed the pole and the wheels to the base before filling it with 50lbs of sand. I made a paper cone using a thick paper and fixing its ends with a cellophane tape. After filling the base the mobility feature comes down. It won't be that easy to move it around (you can push it pulling is hard). But for the safety of the kids it is better to fill the base rather than putting the weight over it. ... show more

I purchased this for my 8 year old son. He had expressed an interest in this sport and since he attends a private school that doesn't have an athletic program for elementary children, we thought this would be a minimal investment to see if he really would follow through. The installation went smoothly and took about an hour from the time we got it out of the package until the base was filled with water and ready to go. We decided to fill the base with water instead of sand so it would be less messy to empty when we needed to bring it in for winter. No need to worry though because we just adjust the height so it can fit under the garage door and roll it in each night. It is so easy to adjust and there is plenty of room to grow with your child. My son absolutely loves it. Now instead of sitting in front of his Wii U or playing Minecraft nonstop, he actually is excited to go outside and try to shoot hoops. I love the fact it is adjustable so that in the beginning it can be set at a height where the kid can actually make some hoops. This has given my son so much confidence! So far this system has been plenty sturdy and it has never even come close to tipping over. I have no complaints.
