Really love this product! Finally have continuous sparkling water at home! It took a fair bit of work to get it set up though, as you have to buy a proper regulator, CO2 cylinder, and connections to get it plumbed in.

I've owned my LIfePlus sparkling water maker for over 30 days and use it maybe 6 times a day during the week and a dozen times a day on the weekend and wanted to write an in depth review since there is so little information available out there. Even the manufacturer isn't putting out sufficient information. I'm breaking it down into three parts: Review of the Product, Review of Installation, and Review of Maintenance and Upkeep The product itself: My LifePlus has run with only one issue since installation. One day of heavy use it had cooling issues and shut down my CO2 button so I could only use the cold water or room water buttons on the device. The display was showing an error code E4 which due to the lack of support, I never figured out what that meant. But basically, the symptoms were as described above. The cooler stopped working and the CO2 button was disabled till I power cycled the device the next day and it started working and no issues since. There is a definite lack of information and support regarding this product. Secondly, they don't make it easy for you to decide what type of CO2 system to use. They don't tell you that it's designed for use with SodaStream CO2 bottles, but you'll be wasting a lot of money if you use those CO2 bottles. Regardless, once installed it has been the easier and a much cheaper option than SodaStream as long as you don’t use those small CO2 bottles. I do have to leave the drip tray detached so I can easily refill my 32oz tumblers. That is one complaint that I do have. Now the LED displays the water temp in Celsius and I love how it’s usually at 2 degrees when I go to fill my tumbler. Overall, I’ve rated the product 4 out of 5 stars for now and I’m happy with my purchase. Installation: The installation as far as the water line was the easiest thing ever. I used the Pex tubing that it came with and bought an additional pex adapter line with fittings because I did a fancy install. The easiest line in your house to tap is the ice maker line behind your fridge and that’s what I used. I simply tapped that line then ran it into a three-cartridge filter system that I also got off Amazon, the Waterdrop TSA 3-Stage Under Sink Water Filter, and I mounted that on the wall behind the fridge as it is easily accessible and out of sight there. I then ran that line directly into the LifePlus. Be sure to install cut offs before and after the filter system for easy disconnects and maintenance. Now the CO2 line was the challenge. Since this is designed to be used with SodaStream CO2 bottles and you don’t like burning your money and changing those bottles weekly, you’ll need to buy a regulator, an adapter to go from a little 60L SodaStream tank to a decent 5lb – 20lb tank , and a CO2 tank from your local beer keg distributor. Find a CO2 distributor that does tank exchanges, full for empty. Refilling is not worth it unless you go to a professional air & gas distributor. Now, the instructions don’t say what PSI to run this at, but they do say do NOT run it at over 70 PSI on the CO2 line. Keep that in mind when buying your regulator. A lot of beer line regulators have a 40 - 50PSI safety valve on them so they can’t go that high. I run my regulator at 40 PSI and find the carbonation on the heavy side but love it. Now the CO2 Pex line is thicker and if you get a Pex tube expander tool and a bowl of hot water, it does help you properly fit that line onto your barb fitting on the regulator. Maintenance and Upkeep: After 30+ days of ownership, not much to report here. Except for the one E4 error that was fixed with a power cycling, no issues. My CO2 regulator also displays the tank capacity and I love how after a month of heavy usage, the needle hasn’t dropped at all on my little 5lb tank. I’ll update this area as my ownership hits 6+ months and a year. ... show more

    • We could not be more pleased!
We have been using our LifePlus Soda Dispenser daily for about a month. We fill our two 16 oz mugs about 5 times each per day. Always nice and cold and carbonated! No more expensive two-liter seltzer water bottles to purchase and no more bottle returns to the grocery store. We have been drinking this water carbonated beverage now for years instead of just plain water. Add a small squirt of flavored water enhancer for a delightful alternative on occasion. We have connected LifePlus soda machine to the house cold water line using a refrigerator ice machine tap and bought a 20 lb. carbon dioxide cylinder. At our usage, we will refill the 20 lb. carbon dioxide cylinder for around $20 and refill will last for approximately six months. We could not be more pleased. This solution will not cost us but will save us money in the long run! Thank you LifePlus for making this unit available to consumers like us! (and I rarely give reviews, and don't remember a 5 star rating ever given by me. This is an unsolicited review from a very happy customer living in Des Moines, Iowa) ...now updating. After 'one year' of drinking from our Lifeplus dispenser, I have today, exchanged out our empty 20 lb. CO2 cylinder for the first time! ...so "one" person drinking all of their liquid as water carbonated except for coffee consumed... requires and consumes about 10 lbs. estimated of CO2 per year, a number useful in deciding what size CO2 cylinder you want to hook up to your dispenser. Being required to only once a year to replacement? I found it not time consuming and a huge savings in $$ from purchasing, over time, 2 liter 'Seltzer Water' bottles (which is CO2+water) to drink from the local grocery store. Sincerely written by Ron, still a happy customer! P.S. This machine was not a small purchase price for my wife and I to invest in. This is in part one reason for this review. I would have liked to have read an in-depth review from someone who has not ties with Lifeplus to have learned from. ( ...and I will update again this review, if ever NOT happy! :) ... show more
