We purchased this hoverboard for my daughter as a holiday gift after so many good reviews. We had an issue when we first received it, which is that after one successful ride and one full recharge the low battery indicator started beeping nonstop and flashing, wouldn't respond to reset, and the unit wouldn't turn off. Functionally, the low battery button was 'stuck' in the on position and the board wouldn't respond. We read online that this is often an indication of a faulty motherboard. I contacted the seller on Christmas day and we were immediately given instructions on how to reset the unit (hold 'off' for 20 seconds). These instructions didn't work. We left the board in our garage beeping overnight. In the morning, it was still beeping but went completely dead after a few hours. We recharged it again fully and the issue seems to have disappeared. The seller was prompt and helpful. Ultimately we decided to keep the board because my daughter loves it and it (now) works, but we are nervous the problem might pop up again. I ordered this for my grandson and he loved it until the battery quit taking a charge which was about 3 months. The company was great about taking it back. However, they would not exchang it for another one. After they gave me a refund, I had to order a new one.

I've seen a lot of complaints about the battery life on this thing, which I don't understand. This device goes about 8 miles per hour at top speed. The description says it will go about 6 miles on a single charge, and people are complaining that they only get 45 minutes to an hour on a charge. That's 45 minutes. If you're getting 45 minutes or more, than you can't complain about the product you bought. ... show more

This is our 2nd board to buy. The first one didn't last but a month. The red light flashed and one wheel didn't move at all. Customer service wrote us back the very same day we complained and gave us a full refund. We have ordered another one because of the great customer service. Fingers crossed.

My grandson was thrilled - he hasn't been off of this since he mastered it (in about 5 minutes). I insisted on a helmet, and am so glad I did. The first day, he fell HARD and hit his head. It could have been a terrible accident. Let them have fun, but a helmet should be required.
