  • Fun toy
My dudes love this toy and the man. The black cage comes off all the time but it's fine.

  • 3 year old loves it
My 3 year old was pretty excited to get this for Christmas. He loves fork lifts, the magnet is good quality and sticks well. I waited for the price to go down because I don’t know if it’s worth more than 15 bucks for me, but it is played with a lot

  • Some flaws, hard for little kids to play with
Yep, this thing is super cute, but if you're trying to decide between this forklift and the other Brio trucks, I'd say pass on this one. While it's nicely made, it unfortunately has design flaws that make it a frustrating toy to play with. What it has/what it does: The forklift has a "cage" that swings open, and a fork that you can push up and down with your finger. The fork is on springs. You cannot lock the fork in the down position. There's a magnet on the back to which you can attach other Brio vehicles. The person can sit inside the cage, but he isn't secured in place; if you move the truck around, he'll sort of rattle around in there. There are two pieces of a pallet-like thing; the wooden piece slides sideways into the white pieces. Both parts attach, separately or together as one piece, to the bottom of the "fork" with a magnet. This could run on a Brio or any standard-width train track. Thoughts: This one just isn't as well designed for little kids. The mechanisms require finesse to operate. The "cage" on the forklift pops off easily, especially if you're trying to open it, and it's tricky to pop it back in. The "fork" can be pushed up and down with your finger, but to do so, you have to hold down the cage part with your other hand; this often causes the cage to pop off, or the figure sitting in the truck to jostle around. Also, the whole thing tends to tip forward if you load both pallet pieces onto the fork; this is a major cause of frustration for my guy. You could attach another magnetic toy behind it, if you have one, to prevent the tip-over, but I feel like it's a design flaw that should have been prevented. ... show more

  • Another great Brio.
Brio is our favorite train brand because it lasts forever. Our 3 and 5 year old love this forklift. It has great magnetic features.

  • The mechanism is smooth and easy. The top does easily get removed
My grandson chose this item to add to his Brio collection. He is three and has been playing with Brio since he was one. The magnet is strong enough to hold the "loads" without trouble. The crane magnet is not as strong as the fork lift. The mechanism is smooth and easy. The top does easily get removed...so far it has gone back without breakage. He has really liked this truck, what it does and the little person. ... show more

  • Great gift if your little one likes construction stuff and fork lifts
Awesome little toy. Got it for my sons 5th birthday. He loves it. Really neat forklift and it works with other wooden train tracks. Super fast shipping

  • Cute forklift for train set
This is the train set size, not the huge size like the brio ambulance I bought. Either way my son is going to love it!

  • Fussy and not well designed
This forklift looks ok and appears sturdy enough (for a plastic toy,) but it really doesn't function very well. The 'fork' is too small to carry items on top of it without them falling off. It is held in the up position by a strong spring, and putting the fork in the down position requires two hands to hold the light body of the forklift while exerting significant (for a kid) force down on the fork. (It pops back into the up position when released.) The design appears to mostly try to use a small magnet in the fork to hold the included cargo to the bottom of the fork. However, the magnet is not very strong, and I found it barely held other older brio 'containers' as my kid tried to move the loaded forklift around. The cage around the cab hinges up, which is nice for placing the figure, but it tends to move when trying to hold the body of the forklift in order to lower the fork. The figurine is not secured in the cab in any way. Lastly, the proportions are such (since it uses the standard gauge for brio wheels) that it tips over easily. In summary, if you want to just push it around and not do much with it, seems good, but my kid became frustrated with its fussiness within a few minutes. It's a shame, because there do seem to be many good simple forklift toys for little kids. ... show more
