My older cat had a UTI and was peeing on the floor. My dog decided to “help” by peeing where the cat did. Unfortunately after the cat stopped the dog did not and would pee in the bedrooms when we were gone. I had a huge gate in the hallway that the cats could get through but I hated that so I thought I would try these. I do wish that they were a bit more flexible (very stiff) and that the holes were closer because I have a larger cat so I put it on the hole that she can fit through. The dog figured out how to squeeze in but then can’t get out when it’s on the hole that the larger cat can fit through. I tried putting it on a different one but then it’s a very tight squeeze for the larger cat, but she can make it and the dog can’t. This is the neatest gadget since toilet paper. I like to keep the cat out of my room, and my dog out of the cat's room, but after looking at baby gates thinking there HAD to be a better option, this was it. These work VERY well. Super easy to adjust, unless you have a really tiny dog, like a chihuahua, then your dog won't be able to get through but the cat still can. If you have a chihuahua or another very small dog, these might not work for you, but it works good for my six pound Pomeranian. I bought these because I live in a camper and my dogs love the cat box, so I needed to find a solution to let my cats in, but not my dogs. And when I tell you that these are perfect, I mean it! The only thing I found that I don’t like much, is getting the thing on the door handle itself. It was a pain but after it was on, it’s been great! The peg on it, the one that goes into the door hole, is adjustable! Which is very nice! Also it can go on either side of the fish if you are specific on it being right side up. Have tried a few different products / methods to try and dog-proof our house while allowing our cat to come and go throughout the entire house, and this one is the winner! Most of the ones I've tried involve using some type of adhesive backing to stick a hook on one or both parts of the door, involve measuring and extra steps to make sure the dog can't accidentally close the door entirely (thus locking the cat out of places she needs to be able to go). But this one is a winner! Takes just a few minutes to install, effectively keeps the door shut even when the dog is pushing against it to try and open to door, AND keeps solid tension so that a gap large enough for the cat to move in and out is always there. And since there's not much "installation" to do (it just loops over the door handle), I can easily move it to another door/room and back again whenever I need to. As a renter it's great since you won't risk damaging the door with adhesives. 10/10! ... show more

Overall, this is a great product. It is easy to open the door and relax so the kids actually do it. It keeps our dogs out for the most part. If they were very motivated a medium size dog could push the door open and break it. Our one dog accidentally ran into the door and broke one of the pins off.

I had had it with the dogs getting in the litter boxes. I found this by doing a search for a resolution. This is so easy to use. It can go on either levers or knobs. We have two labs, and this is sturdy enough that they can't break through and still leave open just wide enough for the cats. It's as easy as opening and shutting a door for us humans.
