Been holding off for a few years but I really wanted to check out some 4k movies and the price was good on a refurb. 4k player so I got this one. Looks new out of the box even and one cord hookup is all you need. No issues, happy with the purchase so far. Remote comes with it and 4k hdmi cable.

I returned the first refurb unit but the second one has been working well for the last 3+ years. I'm only giving this 4 stars because it feels a bit sluggish in terms of how long it takes to load discs and pull up menus etc, but perhaps I am just spoiled by how much the streaming experience has improved. Picture quality and sound quality are great and for the price it is a good way to be able to play 4k Blu Rays on occasion. ... show more

Package arrived quickly and was double boxed. Player was indistinguishable from new. Hook up was easy and straightforward. My LG B2 OLED TV synced perfectly. Visually the picture is perfect and the Dolby Vision is excellent. All in all I'm very pleased with the unit and would recommend highly.

    • Set HDMI Audio Format on TV to Improve Sound
Just got this, and so far so good, but one tricky thing that might help others: At first the sound was sub-par, even slightly garbled. I've just discovered a setting change that definitely helped. On my TV, an LG QNED85, I selected "settings" / "all settings" / "sound" / "advanced" / "Select HDMI Input Audio Format" / "HDMI {N}" and changed the default "bitstream" to "PCM." It's a little early too comment more, but I wanted to get this right out here, in case it could help others. I wonder if people returning these for bad sound is why there are all these reconditioned ones? ... show more

    • Not all refurb experiences created equal.
Let's compare my experience buying ebay refurb through a large volume seller, vs amazon renewed: Ebay: 1) took 10 days to receive 2) horrendously packed 3) wrong item shipped (worthless old magnavox blu ray player shipped with lg instruction manual, in poor condition too) 4) no refund until they receive worthless item 5) prepaid shipping label poorly formatted and difficult to print 6) no pick up option -- required to do all the legwork 7) time from first order to refund -- still pending but estimated at 3 weeks. Amazon: 1) received in 2 days 2) packed well in original box 3) correct item in perfect like new condition It's a close call but if you're looking at refurb options I'd say this is the better choice. Player itself is prettier looking than expected, like many lg products. Physical buttons on player a nice fallback and click nicely, not touch which I appreciate. Menus are snappy and user friendly, load times good, and noise is minimal. Very satisfied. ... show more
