This is a great little projector. I was pleasantly surprised by the image quality and ultra short distance. If you experience a wavy edge at the top of the screen it is subtle depressions or dents in your wall or screen, not the projector itself. It could be brighter but really it's fine. If you are going to be using the projector in an area with medium to high ambient light then you might wanna find something brighter. This is a terrible product for the price. Focus function does not work properly. Or very poorly functional. So..The sharpness of the text is very poor. There is a screen distortion, but it is not corrected. Although it said it supports 1080P on a 120" screen. The resolution is very poor on a 120" screen. You have to zoom out to about 80" to see the Good resolution. Although I bought this product as a Christmas present. I don't know if the part that doesn't fix once is a defect or what. I will reopen the product for Christmas and test it If the problem is not resolved, a return is required. I've been using another projector, but there was no screen distortion. I think this product is worth using for its low price. At around 1700$, it's not worth buying at all. Really, for the price, I'd say this product is trash. ... show more

    • Wonderful Ultra Short Throw Project with a Couple Gotchas

First off, as anyone should when spending significantly on a new home A/V devices (especially one that you tend to build your system around like a projector), I did quite a bit of homework and knew about both of the drawbacks that I mention below. But that doesn’t mean they magically went away - so they’re worth knowing about. This LG projector has great picture quality and is bright enough for most purposes except a bright room (I would still recommend a dark room and ideally a screen for best picture with ay projector, but you can get away without it). The typical LG smart TV apps and AppStore are built in, and there’s even a built in speaker that’s not super loud, but fine for use if you want to take the projector for an outdoor/impromptu movie night. The selection of ports is also quite good and with the laser, the start-up time is near instant and there’s not a loud loud fan like you see in older projectors. So what are the downsides? There are two, and they are significant. First, all keystone adjustment and focus is manual, unlike some other new projectors that have automatic settings which are very useful. The keystone especially here is a bit of a pain to adjust, especially if you might move the projector a lot. The second is a bit of a setup thing - my prior project had an adjustment that would let it move the screen up/down, right/left a few degrees each way without moving the physical projector itself which this projector does not. Without that you are beholden to placing the projection in a very specific place to hit a given screen. And with the ultra short throw, that’s both close up and immediately below which can be rough. All in all, still a strong projector and well worth your consideration if you’re looking for this sort of device. ... show more

This thing is a beast! Its bright, clear, and easy to set up. This is my first projector. I've been researching projectors for a while now and I knew I wanted a Short Throw due to the fact that I didn't want people to stand up and block the beam while watching tv or a movie. this sits about 5 or so inches from the screen directly under it and produces an amazing image. It connects to all of my existing speakers and gaming systems. I'm sure there are far better and far more expensive projectors out there but this work perfectly for me. I like LG a lot, from AV stuff to washers and dryers, they rarely disappoint. I am still quite happy with the OLED TV I bought in 2017. This projector, however, is a mixed bag and it is not clear which niche it is meant to fill. It is not really portable, it is dim, it is rather expensive, it is difficult to align. Less wiring is required than for a ceiling mounted projector but that is hardly the justification for the price tag. This projector is difficult to align, given that the throwing angle accentuates any misalignment; therefore, it should really be bolted down, not sitting on a dresser as pictured. The speaker is very weak, I am not sure why it is even there. This projector is also quite dim; it ok for my daughter's cartoons but no gaming can happen during the day because of the small amount of light getting around the blackout curtains. So, while it is technically "portable" it is not really portable. The set up is laborious, extra speakers are required, and the room has to be very dark. Not to mention, if the goal is to show a presentation, there are far cheaper and more compact options available. Now, of course, the short throw feature is very impressive. However, it also accentuates any wall imperfection. Our house was built in 1901 and, due to many remodels and the natural settling, our walls are not 100% flat. Looking at the projected picture, one might think that the wall is inches off from flat in some spots but that is just the consequence of the angled picture. Of course, one could use a projector screen. But, at that point, why not also get a brighter ceiling mounted projector for half the price? Finally, maybe I am spoiled by the 4 K OLED, but 1080 P pixels are distinguishable even when the image is 8 ft or so in diagonal. Gaming-wise, that is a turn off. ... show more

Customer service is very poor, i got this projector in Nov 2022, is stopped working in Oct 2023 as i was under warranty it was repaired by LG. After 1 month it stopped working again but this time my warranty period was over and LG said it cannot repair. Now repair shop knows how to fix this device and literally i lost my $1400 on this device. ... show more

This projector is ideal for my needs, and the technology is neat. The image quality is sharp and high def, and the brightness is not bad although it could have been brighter. The image feels like crisp HD, although the color definition could have been wider in some instances, especially across skin tones. There is a common issue with these, and that is the curvy top line, due to the projector mirror design. Mine too had this fault, and I spoke with LG where they confirmed I should send it in for warranty repair. Mind you my device was produced in February 2020 and purchased in April. LG promised me a 5-7 day turnaround, it has now more than been three weeks since I shipped it off, and I never received any confirmation of receipt. I have called LG numerous times, and they are not able to provide any information, no confirmation of its whereabouts or approximate delivery date. I have never experienced such poor customer service, and this renders it hard for me to be a future LG customer. With this in mind, please be aware of any potential faults the unit my have, as their warranty process is troublesome at best. ... show more
