    • Get it for the picture quality
This TV seems to get a lot of grief due to technical issues around its non-picture issues. Let's get something straight. The LG G2 is absolutely fantastic as a display. Just use it as a dumb TV and you will be very happy. Don't like the OS or on-screen advertisements? Use an Apple TV or Roku instead for streaming content. You'll have a much better experience anyways. Problems connecting to Wifi? Connect via ethernet cable and use a cord hider on your wall. Faster connection anyways. Seeing weird video artifacts? Turn off all superfluous processing options and if that doesn't work, it's the content that is the problem. TV turning on/off or switch inputs randomly? Stop using the eARC port, which causes switching problems industry-wide. Get the idea? You will have a great experience with this TV the less you rely on its "smart" features. Should these issues be acceptable on a television this expensive? Probably not, but here in the real world, you will find many of these issues across brands, sans maybe the Wifi issues. If that one is a deal-breaker for you because your router is far away, understandable. Aside from that, this is a TOTL panel beautifully constructed with arguably the best picture quality you can get at the 83 inch size at the time of writing. ... show more

Coming from 75 inch Samsung flagship from 2018 or so to this is a huge improvement. Much better picture! The wall bracket worked fine tho I wish it were a bit wider to be able to hit studs easier.

Good: We bought the 83 inch. The picture lives up to every good thing I've read about it. We bought this to use as a monitor for a 4K Max fire stick. The unit is not connected to the internet, so I can't attest to the LG's interface. As for the picture quality - movie night is at our house from now on. It was very easy to attach the TV to the provided mount using the very clever process that appears on the video. It doesn't come with a stand, but it really is made to be hung on the wall. Not so good: The non-detachable power cable is really thick and long (tee hee). It does not allow the TV to rest flush against the wall unless it sticks out somewhere when you plug it in. I have a recessed power box behind the TV and the cable is too big to fully squeeze it in there. The cable is a three inch thick bundle that's hanging between the TV and the wall. Also, my recessed box is in the middle of where the TV goes. The channels for the wires only lead to the bottom right side, for some reason. Unless I can have the power cord replaced with a shorter one, this TV will never be flush against the wall without wires coming out the bottom. It kind of defeats the purpose of an artwork gallery TV, still the best TV for its size. ... show more

First the bad....get this professionally mounted unless you are very handy. If you plan to put the electric outlet behind the screen, it will need to be recessed or the plug may keep the TV from getting as close to the wall as possible. It comes with four short screws that will need to be dropped into the cradle mounted to the wall and this can be tricky. Now the good...the picture is absolutely "breath-taking". I put the mode on vivid, then found a 4K National Geographic movie on Netflix. WOW!!! We had friends over to check it out and one of them said if she had this TV, she would never be able to get up. We also have an LG C1 which is very good, but the G2 is phenominal. I can't imagine a better TV. So happy we made this purchase and looking forward to years of enjoyment. ... show more

This TV serves ads every time you turn it on. The EULA forces you to accept these ads, and it gives LG permission to scrape what you watch to sell your personal information. If you do not agree to the EULA, you cannot use the smart features you paid for. I will never purchase another LG product again. ... show more
