I am thrilled with this monster of a unit. I love it. I have always used window units but have upgraded to a new window last fall where the old school style a/c can't go in without some sort of brace/shelf to hold it. On top of it, it was breaking the window sill with weight over time so I've been eyeballing a fix. Along came this unit at a fabulous price. I use separate a/c in my master upstairs because it's always hotter than downstairs and I learned, keep downstairs at 74-76, use unit upstairs to keep it chilled nicely. A excellent way to save $ on electric and house heat pump. This unit delivers!!!!! It's only spring in Georgia, but I needed it our first day of mid 70's. Man, this bad boy chills. It does have some sound to it. I have mine in my master closet that has a window so it's about 15 feet from the bed. I am used to a window unit noise so I don't mind it at all. I know it's bringing that sweet coolness to my domain lol. One thing about this unit that I don't understand at all. The piece that slides into the vented piece that goes in the window to block the opening must be cut to fit. The vent takes up space and blocks the ability to slide the extender into a normal 32"? window. I had to get a girlfriends man to cut it. It worked but there was zero info on anything about this. I was going to call the company but decided to put info on review. All in all, I definitely recommend this unit. My windows are free from getting damaged and I must say, the exterior look at the house with this style of unit is much nicer than the old style bulge. ... show more

    • Leaking Water After 2 Months, Definitely Not Buying Another LG AC
Bought this unit in the middle of May and have been using it daily for about 10 hours every day. I bought the 7,000 btu version which theoretically is more than enough to cool the small shoebox sized office it resides in. To begin, this thing is underpowered and doesn't cool as well as it states. I have to keep it at 60F with outside temps being around 82-95F. I can barely cool my office to 77F on a good day. But most importantly it started leaking water after 2 months. Luckily, I caught it the same day it started leaking when I went to shut it off. I'm just glad that this happened in my basement on hardwood flooring with a large area rug on top that soaked most of it up. I can't imagine the horror and extensive damage this could have caused had I placed it in a carpeted room like another reviewer did. So for now, I have this junk unit in a very large rubbermaid container to "contain" any future leaks and will continue to use it until my new replacement comes in. One thing is for certain though, the replacement unit I buy definitely won't be an LG. ... show more

Purchased last year, still works well. I wish it was quieter which is why it’s 4 stars but has been reliable, works well & was easy to install/uninstall during winter months. Overall decent value for money but if you need absolute quiet to sleep NOT FOR YOU

I haven’t had this AC for long but it is excellent so far. I was a bit concerned when I saw it is for a 300 sq ft space as I had intended to get one for a 550 sf room. It keeps the area it’s in very cold despite the heat outside and old leaky windows and the adjoining living room at a comfortable temperature. Was considering buying another as my bedroom AC is a bit old. The accessory wasn’t the proper size for my window as it’s too narrow to fill the space around the vent so check your dimensions. ... show more

Cools well but it is loud when turning on and off to the point where it woke me up multiple times a night. The hose gets rather hot so I put some towels around it to insulate it. LP0723WSR - the 7000 BTU unit

    • Rock Solid LG Quality!
Our main A/C died on us, and as an emergency measure, we bought this unit for our bedroom. The BTU output matches our bedroom square footage, almost exactly. Our air conditioner was delivered at the beginning of Summer, I set it up, plugged it in, set the temperature and it's been running ever since. We just let it do its thing, and it's been about 3 months. The setup was easy, and even though the setup images show an up/down sliding window installation, the window adapter was plenty large enough to adapt to our 44" high left/right sliding window. I have a independent temperature sensor in the bedroom, and it matches the temperature we've set the A/C to. I don't think we would have made it through this summer with just floor fans, alone. I have a 500sqft apartment that has one small air conditioner in the main living area, with no AC in the bedroom. I got this to cool the bedroom. This is so powerful that it cools within 20 minutes or less. It can be a bit loud but is quieter than other floor units I’ve had. The remote is very handy.     • Stopped working after less than 5 months
Had an older LG unit that was very similar which worked for a few years. I replaced it once it started to fail with this newer, more energy efficient model. That worked great until 5 months in at which point it stopped working. Fan would come on, compressor kicked in, but temperature never reached below high 70s. Initially it had no problem putting out 60 degree air. It would also start to freeze over which seems to indicate a refrigerant leak. Due to this, I’d award it zero stars but Amazon requires at least one. Buyer beware! ... show more
