I am thrilled with this monster of a unit. I love it. I have always used window units but have upgraded to a new window last fall where the old school style a/c can't go in without some sort of brace/shelf to hold it. On top of it, it was breaking the window sill with weight over time so I've been eyeballing a fix. Along came this unit at a fabulous price. I use separate a/c in my master upstairs because it's always hotter than downstairs and I learned, keep downstairs at 74-76, use unit upstairs to keep it chilled nicely. A excellent way to save $ on electric and house heat pump. This unit delivers!!!!! It's only spring in Georgia, but I needed it our first day of mid 70's. Man, this bad boy chills. It does have some sound to it. I have mine in my master closet that has a window so it's about 15 feet from the bed. I am used to a window unit noise so I don't mind it at all. I know it's bringing that sweet coolness to my domain lol. One thing about this unit that I don't understand at all. The piece that slides into the vented piece that goes in the window to block the opening must be cut to fit. The vent takes up space and blocks the ability to slide the extender into a normal 32"? window. I had to get a girlfriends man to cut it. It worked but there was zero info on anything about this. I was going to call the company but decided to put info on review. All in all, I definitely recommend this unit. My windows are free from getting damaged and I must say, the exterior look at the house with this style of unit is much nicer than the old style bulge. ... show more

Using this thing and setting up is a breeze. Using the app I connected it to my Alexa and use my voice to turn it on or control it. Sometimes I have to shut it off because it becomes too cold! This AC unit does a great job cooling the room. But it is incredibly loud. I can't recommend it for that reason. Somewhere it stated it was only as loud as a fan, and I was already running two fans in this room to try to keep cool. Well, this unit is much louder than any (house) fan I have ever encountered.     • Very cool - but question the efficiency.

After I bought this, I saw a YT video about the issues with these units, that they pull air out of the room leaving a small 'vacuum', and the house is therefore forced to pull in air from outside - ie. hot air - to replace the air you've just blown out the window. It needs a double hose to not have this problem. Thus, these things aren't very efficient compared to a standard window unit. But those things are ugly and old fashioned, so these things are popular now. So, that's the negatives. Everything else? Great. Very very cold. Cooling done a bedroom thats' quite large and doing a good job without closing the doors, and the bathroom has an open area too. Put on an hour or so before bed though. 90-100 (30-35 C) in the bedroom without it. Additional info for nerds - this has a nice remote and app, but I wanted it connected to Siri/homekit. Fortunately someone has made an LG ThinQ plugin for Homebridge so if you set that up then you can actually make this unit connect to your Apple Home and bypass the app or other home systems. I like that. So it's worth getting the LG unit over cheaper ones just for that function, for me at least. Uses about 700-900watts of power. Again, a window unit might use less for same cooling. But install is trickier and it's ugly on the outside. Would prefer a proper split system but this is much more affordable. And I have a whole home split system but it's expensive to run overnight just for the bedroom. So this is helpful and good. ... show more

Our main A/C died on us, and as an emergency measure, we bought this unit for our bedroom. The BTU output matches our bedroom square footage, almost exactly. Our air conditioner was delivered at the beginning of Summer, I set it up, plugged it in, set the temperature and it's been running ever since. We just let it do its thing, and it's been about 3 months. The setup was easy, and even though the setup images show an up/down sliding window installation, the window adapter was plenty large enough to adapt to our 44" high left/right sliding window. I have a independent temperature sensor in the bedroom, and it matches the temperature we've set the A/C to. I don't think we would have made it through this summer with just floor fans, alone. First time experimenting with a slash unit. 7000/10000. Acts more like 7000. If you actually need 350 square feet, spend the extra on a 10000/12000 unit. Unit functions fine, but cant cover 350 square unless you drop to lowest temp. Not looking forward to next utility bill.
