This was purchased about a year ago when I was remodeling the kitchen. The first shipment had a crack in the corner but I was able to get a replacement. So far, the cooktop works great! I use it maybe 3 to 5 times a week and it still looks brand new save for some minor burn marks I can't get out. PROS: It is super easy to clean; I either wipe it down with a wet rag and dish soap or when it's really dirty I break out the Weiman cooktop cleaner, a cleaning pad and some elbow grease. I've only had to do a serious cleaning less than 10 times since I've bought it. The touch buttons also make cleaning easy. The heat holds up nicely once it's going and I've gotten the hang of turning it down sooner or taking the pot completely off the burner when the heat needs to be lowered. No biggy. Most of my pots are the Calphalon steel and I have some non stick pots also. Aesthetically, it looks great against my granite counter and under my Whirlpool glass rangehood. I also appreciate the auto shut off and child lock features. I use the child lock all the time. CONS: The touch controls are intuitive but only once you use it several times. I've had to explain it to others a few times. The childlock may be what throws people off since i always have it on. It can also seem like the childlock indicator means the stove is hot. You have to be really careful with spills. Once I tried to clean a spill with a rag while the burner was on. Dumb idea! Some of the rag melted of course and i can't get all of it off till this day. The burner does take a while to heat but there's only been a couple times when this was frustrating to me. It could take a 2 to 3 mins to get to a rolling boil on a small pot of water. Again I've adapted by turning it on a little while before i have to use it. Same with turning the heat down. I just anticipate it takes a little longer and turn the heat down a few mins early. All in all a great addition to my kitchen! Love the look, love the function and features and would definitely buy it again. ... show more

This is an amazing cooktop! It was highly rated but we weren't sure about ordering something like this from Amazon. However the price was over $100 cheaper than anything we could get locally so we took the leap. Our handyman installed it and it is amazing. The funniest part is the old one had knobs, not the electronic controls, and it took us a bit to figure out how to turn the burners on. But it's easy to run, easy to clean, and looks fabulous with our new granite! ... show more

My wife and I researched cook tops for a few months before buying this LG. We have been remodeling and once our new countertops were in we had the cook-top installed. That was on September 12 and we have yet to be able to use it. We contacted LG and waited 3 days for their service company to contact us and they were not much help.They stated they were not electricians, but wanted to sell me a weak theory about the power in my house which I pushed back on. We then began the calls with LG since their service provider figured out that the cook-top in fact was defective. We then waited 3 more days for them to tell us LG could not tell them when the part could be delivered. Then back we go to LG trying to get a replacement, but have to go through the defective claims process of which now they say they can respond in 5 days. I told them I was not going to wait another "few" weeks and we either needed a replacement now or a refund now. I am now 3 weeks with a cook-top that will not work and a wife that is none too happy about it. Ask yourself how your wife would be after thousands of dollars in remodel and then having to rely on a microwave. This is the first time I have ever had an issue with a product purchased through Amazon and I don't blame them. LG has been an absolute pain to deal with and I just hope my wife doesn't crush it with a sledge before I can return. ... show more

    • Great cook top, easy to install, easy to clean.
Installs easily. It works fine- my only "complaints" are that sometimes it doesn't see wet fingers on the controls, and setting pots/pans/lids down on the control area can turn on the child lock. Clean up is pretty easy since the surface is just a big flat piece of glass. You need to wipe it with a soapy cloth then wipe it dry with another cloth or paper towel or you'll have ugly streaks/film on it. ... show more

Unit was shipped well packaged and arrived on schedule. The instructions must have been updated, as I found no errors in the dimensions, though some of the dimensions could be misread if one did not look at the drawings carefully. We've had the unit in service about a month, and are quite pleased with its performance. It will bring a pot to boil in just a few minutes, and the temperature control is quite even. I believe the quartz is acting as a heat storage unit and smoothing out the performance of the unit. All in all, no regrets here, though I've not needed to rely on factory service or any other things that have shown up in some reviews. ... show more

    • Completely glass cooktops are annoying
If the kitchen and/or your hands cold, it can be difficult to turn on. You pretty much have to use the pad of your finger to operate the cooktop which is a pain when your hands are messy as they often are in the middle of cooking dinner. Also, if you accidentally set a hot lid over the controls, everything turns on. I will never again buy a cooktop without knobs. ... show more
