Color: Camo 40l
Solid product. Probably on the heavier side of packs, but great pack overall. Would purchase again 100%

  • love, love, love
Color: Camo 40l
I had sat for about a week and read review after review on bags. I don't hunt much anymore but my boyfriend is very active when it comes to hunting. He and the guys plan a trip every year to go out of state and he said that he really needed a good bag that was comfortable and that held his stand poles, as well as all the gear he needed to bring with. I was skeptical about spending this much money without making sure it was exactly what he needed.. But after comparing hundreds (literally hundreds lol) of bags I finally just said screw it im doing it. and....... HE ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT. the camo quality is outstanding. The durability this thing seems to have is insane. literally big enough that I (5 foot 3 inches) can stand inside of the thing. It has a nice back support that will help take the pressure off of his back when they are hiking to where they will be hunting. He also has plenty of areas to buy the bigger outdoor clips to allow more things to be carried. It does have nice pole/stick holders with straps so they will be secure. I would recommend this to anyone as long as they will get their use out of it. He is not allowed to ever get a new one until this one is literally in threads ... haha. But with how good the quality seems im sure that will be awhile ;) ... show more

  • Great pack
Color: Armygreen 40l
First off, I haven't packed meat with this pack yet ( bc I didn't killnan elk last year) but I have weighted it down for hikes and back country trips. It fits great for its price point. I did a few mods but nothing big. I raised the load lifters up to the next loop for more angle. Blacked out the orange stitching and ordered black zipper pulls. I also added an Eberlestock stuff pouch towards the back of each side on the belt. I also got the bino and extra straps for it. The bino seems a bit bulky and heavy but it's not bad. To be fair, I have the Eberlestock mainframe and all the accessories and prefer the fit, weight, gun carrier vs scabbard, padding, and load lifters of this Drover pack. It just fits nice! I really wanted to like the mainframe over the Drover hence all the accessories for it but the load lifters are flat, it's heavy, the scabbard is too tight with a bag zipped over it, and you can't reach back and rip it out as needed and bulky and less padding in the straps than the Drover. I don't like it as much even with all the goodies. I also have a Nimrod pack that is sweet. My fave for quick hunts or just quick back to get something to haul the meat out vs packing it. It's not set up for that just pursuit. It also has a great scabbard that minimal but holds the gun at an angle just over a shoulder for easy reach over and be on point. I will try a Safari along with it this year. Should be good. However, if I end up going deep the the Drover is next in line. ... show more

  • Great pack!
Color: Armygreen 40l
I'm really happy with this purchase. The product is obviously well made and should serve me well for years. Only two nitpicky complaints. First is that the zipper pulleys and parts of the stitching are hunter orange. I just spray painted over these but I don't want anything that stands out on my bag. The other thing i noticed is that there aren't a lot of small pockets for organizing gear. But all that aside i recommend this backpack and would buy it again. IMO the quality rivals that of packs that cost twice as much. ... show more

  • Great hunting/hiking pack
Color: Armygreen 40l
Bought this last min as I learned not all hiking bags straps adjust for height. My SO has 2 badlands bags and I planned to use one until we learned this. I was skeptical bc I had never heard of this brand. I ordered the 80L and 40L to compare. I have a 65L for hiking but needed something that’d carry meat for my week long hunting trip. I went with the 40L as I was able to fit my belongings and no matter how much I adjusted the 80L, it wouldn’t comfortably fit my 5’2” frame. I loved that the bag detached from the frame. I was able to use it for all my day hikes with ease without completely unloading my gear. When detaching you’re only left with 2 hip pockets so I attached my camel back backpack for added storage and it worked perfectly! I love the adjustments. I wasn’t able to test its meat hauling ability sadly. It would be nice if you could attach your rifle without the pack (maybe you can but I didn’t see how). I also would love some type of a blaze orange cover like I’ve seen on other packs. I used my orange vest over it and that worked as well. I would totally even use this for a regular backpacking trip if needed. ... show more

  • Impressed so far.....
Color: Camo 40l
I was very skeptical while researching this bag. Not much info on this bag particularly in the USA. My son has begged me to get a framed meat packing bag. He has owned Mystery Ranch and is currently using an Exo bag (which he loves). My wife gave me the green light to order an Exo bag. But, couldn't pull the trigger being $300-400 more. My son made fun of me when I told him I ordered this bag. When it arrived he spent 20 minutes trying to find something wrong with it. Finally, he says, Hmm, looks solid. After making a few adjustments for fitting, we threw some weight in it and took off to set up our game cameras. Though, I will admit, I have never personally used a high end USA brand. But, after the two mile hike this bag was by far the best thing I have ever strapped to my back. It was amazing how all the weight was off my shoulders. I almost forget it was there. A week later we went back up to check the cams. Not disappointed! Though, I was about the lack of elk pics. I strongly recommend and with Amazon return what do you have to lose. I really think this bag is going to make a big push in the states. I will update after a season of hunting. Hunt on! Three Year Update: Three years of use and hundreds of miles logged. Between summer mountain lake hikes (about 10/summer) and hunting in the fall. This bag is still my go to bag. No issues, zippers are still working great, fabric has zero wear or tears, straps still perfect. Hauled out numerous deer and elk with no issues. The only complaint I have is I wish I had got the 80L bag. Strongly recommend! ... show more
