Installing it was one of the biggest headaches ive ever experienced. Has outer shell that needs pulled off and installed semi-permanently. Then you slide inner unit in and screwed into outer shell. Then face plate is a nightmare to get to snap on and screwed in. This is not a unit to easily pull in and out of a window! It is blowing cold and is decently quietly but not worth headache. Had to install it in the master bathroom window because it was the closest available to the master bedroom. We have to turn it off when showering. It cools the bedroom down to 75-76 when it’s 102 outside. It works pretty fast, maybe 45 minutes from 85 degrees down to 76 degrees. It’s definitely a two woman job to muscle the unit around. You have to remove the unit from its casing, install the casing in the window then power lift the unit back into the casing. We used three woman, one was the navigator since it was a tight fit. When you install the casing, be sure to use a level to ensure that the outside is slightly lower than the inside. I neglected this step and mine is still level. Due to the slinger fan I have not had an issue yet. For obvious reasons I did not want to take the unit apart and start over. So far so good on day 5. ... show more

Unless I'm missing something in the settings. Which I will be going over. I have this A/C on Cool and on high. At 60 degrees temperature which is lowest temp. Possible on this unit in a room 15 x 15 and the room is cool but not cold. I thought this would make this size room really cold. I'm a little disappointed. I feel like I should have either gotten a different brand or a larger BTU a/c. I previously had a Frigidaire 12000 that needed replacing and that unit only went down to 62 degrees but my room would feel like it was freezing. I already have it installed. I don't think I want the hassle of removing it, putting old unit back until I got a different one. But we'll see. ... show more

This unit weighs almost 100lbs. so upon receipt I, at 72, had to hire someone to install it. When I turned it on I got an error code that the booklet said I had to call the helpline over. LG was not at all helpful and said it was faulty and I had to deal with Amazon to return it. Paid again to have it "uninstalled" back in the box. Now I'm out $135.00 total, because I was sent a faulty unit and no one, either LG or Amazon cares. I asked LG for a $135.00 discount on a replacement, as I am out $135.00 just because I ordered their product. They said the best they could do was give me a 15% coupon (would have been $60.00 on a 400.00 unit, not half of what I was already out, I said OK then they never sent it. Buy what you want, but I wouldn't buy from LG. No integrity. ... show more
