I have NEVER been a soap bar person. I avoided it at all costs because of that drying, "sticky", too-clean feeling it leaves behind, as well as my association that all bar soaps have intense, nose-offending fragrances (I'm thinking of Irish Springs). Bath and Body Works shower gel has been my thing for over a decade, and I'm all about wearing fragrances. So why did I buy fragrance-free bar soap? The answer may be TMI: I get chronic yeast infections that cause serious skin irritation around my lady bits. If you didn't want to read that, real talk: they happen, they're common, and men can get them too. Anyway, I never used body wash in that area because I had heard it could wreak havoc on the sensitive skin and microflora balance (which it can!), but then my doctor recommended fragrance-free white bar soap (and ONLY fragrance-free white bar soap) as a safe way to clean the area of irritants. Dove was the first thing that popped into my head as "good" bar soap, so I bought the fragrance-free two-pack. Not only does the soap work wonders for that issue...it doesn't leave behind that bar-soap feeling! The moisturizing element really works, and the lather is rather luxurious. It does have a faint sort of nutty natural soap smell, but that's to be expected, and I actually quite like it. Then I discovered that it's great for washing my sensitive face without over-drying, so I use it on non-makeup days in order to preserve my more expensive face wash. Then I discovered that this soap does a pretty solid job at removing makeup itself! THEN I discovered that it cleans makeup brushes like a dream and leaves them super soft afterwards! Then I discovered that with the moisturizing element and the slippery suds it makes, it's effective as a shaving soap/"cream". Then I realized the fragrance-free aspect is great if I'm planning to wear a perfume that isn't a part of my Bath and Body Works collection and I don't want a clashing body wash fragrance. I thought the two-pack was going to last me forever but the first bar I opened up two weeks ago is about a third gone already. This soap slipped into my life and took over...Can't see myself going without it now. ... show more

I use Dove beauty bar for my face and hands. I have another soap in the shower. But for my face and hands, Dove's gentleness and moisturizing quality is the best. I've been very satisfied with this product.

One thing I really don't like in soaps marketed to women are heavy floral scents. I like Dove soap, and usually buy their unscented version for that reason, but purchased this on a whim because I do like citrus scents. I was pleasantly surprised by this, as while there are some stronger floral notes in this, the citrus scent tones it down, and by the time you've exited the shower, you're left with a clean, slightly citrus scent that isn't cloying and dries down to a pretty subtle scent. It's now my favorite, but the past two times I've needed to re-order, it's been harder to find, so I suspect that Dove either has discontinued it or has reduced it's production significantly. ... show more

This is a wonderful product with a great arome, it moisturizes better than most and it is very efficient as a cleaning agent. The big problem with this product is that the manufacturer only produces it in the winter months for some reason. It should be available through out the year as there is definitely a demand for this fine product. The product is available in bars and in the form of body wash. Currently I have to hoard a supply of the the body wash and bars during the winter to build an adequate supply to last through summer. Someone needs to let the manufacturer that the consumer should be driving the availability of the product, or perhaps one day we will just say it isn't worth the hassle and move on to another similar product. ... show more

I didn't have a problem with this product not matching the description as some seemed to have--weight and appearance matched the description on the product precisely. This soap smells very much like the medicated eczema body wash (CeraVe) that cost 4 times what I paid for this product. It doesn't leave a greasy feel like the CersaVe, however, and it smells somewhat better, though not exactly a fragrance anyone would find alluring. But while the scent is unusual it fades quickly and leaves my skin feeling clean but not dried out! It foams fairly well, unlike the CeraVe or other washes I've tried. This soap is about sensitive skin, moisturizing, and the lack of harsh chemicals, and in that regard, it succeeds. I'm still looking, but for the meantime, I'm okay with this. ... show more
