We ordered the dark gray version of this chair. We have been looking for mid-century modern style furniture so when I saw this chair I had to order it and give it go in our living room. If it didn't work there it would go into the home office. Turns out that we really like it! There are 3 wood frame components that need to be attached together and to the cushions. The build is quite straightforward and can be almost completed with the included hardware by just one person. I brought out my own Phillips screwdriver to complete the final step of screwing in the cross bracing into the legs. I recommend following the instructions and not winging it! I can confirm that the dimensions in the product listing are largely accurate but I did come up with a few small differences: -- Overall Size (W x D x H): 26.25 x 31 x 30.5 inch -- Seat Cushion Width (SW): 22.25 inch -- Seat Cushion Depth (SD): 20.0 inch -- Seat Cushion Height from Floor (SH): 17 inch The bottom of the seat cushion is covered by a cloth layer held closed by velcro on three sides. Peeling back the covering exposes the springs on the inside but more importantly the holes through which six bolts go through. This has the added benefit of hiding most of the chair's hardware from sight. At 17" off the ground the seat cushion is maybe one or two inches shorter than the other chairs we have but I like this height. Because the seat has is tilted back I get the feeling of sinking into the chair and yet it is not hard to get out of. Seems like a nice balance of low height, back lean and comfort. Aside from the chair just being a fairly comfortable chair to sit in, we really like the slight upward curve of the armrests. Because the sitting position is leaned back, this upward tilt makes sense and feels good. The seat, back and sides are covered in soft velvet. We worry the material may wear down easily so will keep an eye on the durability over time. We also need to determine how best to clean the surface if it gets dirty. Overall we're really pleased with this chair so far. It is comfortable, looks really good and is easy to assemble. We would not hesitate to order a companion chair. ... show more

. The velvet material is outstanding. The dark walnut stain finish on the wood is smooth and shows the deep grain patterns. Overall fine quality for the value. I had a real "mid-century" chair like this that followed me around until the 80s. I loved that chair. It didn't look comfortable, but it sure was. I crammed for exams, fell asleep many nights, and achieved a degree in that chair. This "modern mid-century" chair is a real upgrade that gives me the same feeling of comfort. The upgrade for me is the upward swooping arms. They work for me and my size. it's nice to put my genuine antique mid-century body in a modern mid-century designed chair with the function I wanted to recapture. This chair was easy to assemble and is pretty sturdy. It creaks when you sit in it and also wiggles side to side a little bit. The arm rests are nice and long and feel smooth and comfortable. The chair cushion is firm but oh so soft! The velvet is like heaven on your legs haha. It's comfortable to sit in, but it leans back pretty far and after a while, my neck gets tired from arching forward to compensate. It's not my favorite chair to sit in, but it's decent. I do like the material the most, but for comfort and sitting in it for a long period of time, I'd rather sit in something else. Also, the bottom of the back rest does sag a little bit because a lot of the weight is getting put there and pulls on the fabric. Overall, it's a nice chair to sit back in, but not for a very long time. ... show more

I'm really enjoying this chair. I love the style it adds to our living room, looking classy while also simple and sleek with excellent colors. The textures are great - the fabric is smooth and soft and the wood it nicely contoured and comfortable to rest even my large arms on. The cushioning is a really nice firmness - soft enough to be comfortable but still firm enough to offer some nice longevity. I also really enjoy the height and overall size. It feel s roomy and comfy without actually taking up too much space. The arms are thin enough that you can't set drinks or anything on them, but a nice end table can fix that. A lovely chair, in a mid century modern style that will work even if you don't have that style in your home. My house is more of the eclectic nautical beachy but this chair fit in just fine. I assembled it myself when it came. It was relatively easy, took me about 30 minutes as I wanted to make sure I didn't go too many steps ahead and find that I did something wrong. It cam out so nice and is very very comfortable. I set it near our front entry so that I can sit on it to put on and take off my shoes. I love it. It's pretty big, I was worried it would be narrow but hubby who is 6' 235 fits in it just fine. The fabric of the seating is so soft and luxurious feeling, the cushioning is firm and supportive but not hard. The wood arms are beautifully crafted and they did a great job. It's just a nice chair. I would buy another to match it but we don't have another spot to put it so this one will be a loner in our household. ... show more
