Tool required: DRILL (NOT a cordless screw driver NOT a regular screw driver). It comes with Allen wrenches & plenty of spare bolts, wood screws, washers & locking washers, just in case you lose a couple of them. 4 stars for now because I put them together today (7/25/21). I will update after a few months. Assembly was easy and is essentially 3 phrases: (Leg assembly, Attaching legs to swivel base & Attaching those parts to the seat). Depending on your taste, these barstools can swivel or fixed/non-swivel (I found out by accident, lol). If you want the base to swivel, use the top center bolt hole when attaching the leg assembly to the swivel base. If you don't want the stool to swivel, attach the leg assembly in the lower bolt holes. When you use the lower bolt holes, the chair legs will be flush with the underside of the seat, keeping the seat in a fixed position/non-swivel position. See attached photos. They appear very sturdy & I suspect I will be upgrading them to 5 stars soon. I will decide later if I want to add cushions for added comfort ... show more

This is a very nice coastal looking chair however incredibly hard to assemble. There are screws that are too long to screw the posts together, that in turn make the legs not flush together, so it’s a little wobbly. The wood screws that are too long AND incredibly hard to go through the wood. The holes are not pre-drilled and it was incredibly difficult using a high-quality electric screwdriver to get the post together. Once finished you put the legs to the underneath of the seat and the seat base is missing the inserts for the little screws to actually connect ... so I have no way now to put the top of the stool with the incredibly hard to assemble legs.     • Very sturdy but you need your own tools to assemble
Beautiful and very well made but I'd say almost impossible to assemble as is. More than just having your own socket wrench with an allen key attachment, it is extremely hard to screw in the screws. My husband predrilled holes after marking the spot (at the correct angle) with an ice pick. Then he was able to screw in the screws. It would be so much easier if the holes were predrilled for you. After we struggled to figure all this out, the last three we put together went much more smoothly. As for the look of the stools, they are a little too distressed looking for me so I will probably dry brush paint over the scuff marks. I wanted a lower back so as to not block the view of the kitchen, but one a bit higher would be better for us as we are a tall family. Saying all that, I really do love the stools. They are reasonably priced, solid, good quality and spin very smoothly. I like that they don't have a cushion that will get dirty. I can always add a chair pad later if I decide I need more comfort. ... show more

I love these chairs! Once together, they are sturdy and comfortable. The swivel works great. I personally have mixed feelings about the brown paint on the white wood and the intentional chips in the seat, but I understand they are going for a natural look and it may be just what you are looking for! The one downside that made assembly a bit difficult was that there were no pre-drilled holes on the legs. I wasn’t strong enough myself to screw them all the way into the wood without them and had to request some assistance from a much stronger family member. I definitely recommend having someone there to help you. Overall it was worth it to have such lovely bar stools! ... show more

These chairs are terrible. Looked cute in the photos, but when I received them 3 weeks later, I hate the look. They look factory made, not more authentic. Both chairs have the exact same distress marks in the same location. Both chairs have two factor made defects in the seats, that are in the same location. These chairs look like twins, making them look factor made, nothing about them suggest they are custom produced. The foot rest is small and you can only rest one foot on one side. One of the chairs does not sit level so it wobbles. The overall finish looks, cartoony, unrealistic. I threw away the packaging because the custom box can't be reused. I'll bubble wrap and stick in a Uhaul box, but these are going back. ... show more

Stools with backs AND swivel feature!!! These are so cute in our kitchen they look like they belong! I put these together myself, took me a little bit and I had to use a little muscle but it was fairly easy and I didn't need my husband's help. They look a little short at my counter because there's a ledge missing under the counter that the prior owner took off (they had the wrong size stools), but the counter height is perfect. Looking forward to getting a lot of use out of these. What a great price too!!! ... show more

These are great chairs, very sturdy with good swivel action. You will definitely need a cushion for them, though; not very comfortable on the bum for a long sit. But these kind of chairs rarely are comfortable without cushions.
