Description

The Mach I baitcast outfit delivers as promised, serving up great value with top quality features. The Mach I reel features a one-piece lightweight graphite frame and sideplates. The preminum 10-bearing system includes Zero- Reverse one-way clutch bearing for smooth retrieves and solid hooksets. The Multi-Setting Brake (MSB) utilizies both an external click dial to adjust the Magnetic Brake System, and an internal 4-pin positive on/off Adjustable Centrifugal Brake System for precise cast control. A double-anodized spool provides plenty of capacity for extra long cast. The rod is built on a one- piece IM8 graphite blank that incorporates Nano technology. Guides are durable stainless steel with smooth aluminum oxide inserts. The Lew's exclusive graphite skeletal reel seat are lightweight and secure. Durable high density EVA split grips reduce weight without compromising comfort.

I bought one of my sons one of these for Christmas and it is fantastic, he loves it, so I ordered a second one for one of my other sons, and unfortunately it arrived damaged today, likely bc of poor packaging and shipping. The rod is perfect, but the reel is terribly damaged and the handle is bent. The packaging had wrapped around the handle really tightly, tearing the plastic wrap it was in, exposing the lower part of the rod and some of the reel. The plastic wrap was ripped over the areas that are so badly scratched. We are returning it and trying one more time to order the same one from this same place. ... show more

I don't write these ever. But I must say. I have heard hit and miss in this brand, the quality and all. But i must say I'm impressed. I grabbed a 6 10 medium heavy fast action. The sensitivity on it is better than my previous setup. Its my first over 100 dollar combo. I am understanding more you get what you pay for. I ordered this combo and it came and the reel handle was bent, luckily, customer service was amazing and sent a new one after I emailed lews, satisfied now. That’s the only reason it gets a four star.

This is a great baitcaster combo for the price. It's on the flashy side being all blaze orange but it throws heavier lures very well. If you are new to baitcasters you may want to avoid the lighter lures at first to avoid backlashes. The brakes are not as nice as some of my more expensive reels but figured that (for the price).
