I've only had it for a few days and at first it was great! As of yesterday I've noticed it started turning itself off randomly. No, it's not on auto. Yes, it has water in it. It's on high because it's hard to keep my house at 50% in the winter. There's no specific percentage it's shutting off at, I don't have this problem with my other (vicks brand) humidifier but it's also not digital. Disappointed to say the least. Update - 12.14.21 It's still shutting off randomly but now sometimes the display doesn't shut off, instead illuminates all icons and won't turn off. I have to unplug it to get it to actually shut off. Still using store bought DISTILLED water. Still doesn't work the way it's supposed to. I think I'm gonna smash it with a hammer. Update - 12.18.21 I emailed the levoit support team on Dec 15th explaining my issues. A few emails back and forth and as of Dec 16th, they have resolved the issue and are sending a new unit. I'm very grateful for the levoit support team (especially you, Pauline) for their speedy responses and excellent customer service. ... show more

I loved this humidifier when I first received it. It is compact, modern looking and easy to setup, refill & clean. It also has a mobile app, can connect to Google Assistant as part of the smart home, and it has a auto mode for scheduling on/off times or target humidity levels. I would've given it 5-stars if everything worked. Unfortunately, after two days of consecutive use, it started to randomly shutoff (as described by some reviewers here). The shutoff appeared to be related to when the unit mis-detects the water tank is empty (I received an empty tank alert on its app every time a random shutoff occurred). I thoroughly cleaned the base and the tank but the random shutoff continued. I've returned my unit to Amazon and am waiting for a replacement. Fingers crossed the replacement works. Do not buy this! I bought for my daughter. She filled it as instructed in the morning. That evening noticed damage to her kitchen ceiling. After inspection realized the humidifier had a leak that had went through the upstairs bedroom floor and damaged the ceiling. Tried to explain to Amazon and all they would offer is a refund to my account for the price of the humidifier! We are out a few hundred dollars for repairs!! ... show more

The app connected fine but for whatever reason this thing thinks it’s 65% humidity in my house which I promise you it’s not. Heat has been going non stop due to record cold temps, all my other sensors show closer to 35%. It’s below freezing out and if it were 65% in here the windows would be dripping from condensation. Purchased this a month ago. Seams to do the job. It works and moves the moistured air around but in a very small area. Your position will determine how well this works for you. It’s quiet enough to sleep just fine. Cleaning is very easy. Read directions so as to get the best possibly use from this devise. O, this when using will leave a film on your dresser or whatever u place this on. I used an old microwave glass plate. I bought this model because it can be controlled by an app or by Alexa. Jury is still out on the Alexa control because I can’t get it set up properly but using the app works flawlessly. I’ve read other reviews stating that the humidity readout is very inaccurate but I have not experienced that. I keep a stand-alone temperature and humidity sensor and it reads +/- 1% of the built-in sensor of this unit. I’d call that a win.
