Description

Decora Edge wiring devices provide the traditional appearance and superior performance of Decora devices in a faster, easier-to-install, and safer design. The line consists of Single Pole and 3-Way Switches and a Tamper- Resistant Outlet. Innovative installation features such as color-coded lever terminals (including the ground terminal) for faster, efficient wiring, a larger strap with a unique tongue and groove alignment feature for quicker trim out on multi-gang installations, and no exposed metal parts for safety, make Decora Edge ideal for new home construction and MDU projects as well as retrofit applications. Installers using Decora Edge will experience an installation process as unique as it is practical. The color-coded levers provide the foundation for quick installation by helping to rapidly identify the correct terminal for wiring, including a lever terminal for the ground wire. The lever termination feature assures a positive connection has been made. This patent pending design has a snap feature with an audible 'click' so installers can be confident with every termination.

After recently buying an older home, it needed some updating to replace the original 1950s Leviton outlets. It was only fitting to put the best and newest outlets in their place. These Decora Edge outlets make installing a breeze. The lever terminals are super convenient for setting your wiring in and pushing the lever shut. No more wrapping the wire carefully around a screw and tightening it. The added convenience of having a strip gauge takes the guess work out of how much wire you'll need for your connections. The tamper resistant feature is also a huge benefit with having a toddler, and providing peace of mind. The marketing pictures show 'Push, Click, Done' and it's truly as simple as that. I'm by no means an electrician, but these outlets made the install much easier and gave me more peace of mind. They also look fantastic with the screwless faceplates. I’ve replaced a lot of outlets over the years to more modern fixtures. These Leviton outlets were by far the easiest to use. Simply trim the sheath off the wire, lift the latch in the outlet, insert the wire, close the latch, screw the outlet into the box, put on the outlet faceplate, and you are done. I replaced 5 old outlets yesterday with these and was done in short order. Leviton made the work much easier. ... show more

For some reason I thought this was a simple plug in device to add more outlets. (maybe the name "Decora" threw me off?) My Bad! it is actually something that needs to be installed into your outlet. Needless to say, I have not attempted to install since I misunderstood it. It does seem complete however with all one would need if replacing an existing outlet. Overall, nice innovation. I'm just a homeowner, but redid all the outlets in the house when we had small kids to get the TR shutters. These would have been nice to have. I had one outlet in the utility room that I needed to update. I was able to install this a bit faster than wrapping around the screw terminals. The connection seems better than the backstabs, but only time will tell. I had 2 backstab outlets go bad, but they were over 30 years old. I like that there are no exposed terminals it adds another layer of safety. I was expecting a better value considering they are offshore made. At the time of writing the review these are about 30% more than a standard screw terminal decora outlet. They are UL listed and Leviton a major player so I'm sure the quality is there. ... show more

Wanted to try out the new plug type as this no longer has screws to it. I definitely see the advantages of this and this works best if it's just one wire going for hot ground and neutral. I feel like it is stronger super simple and fast, but feel like the screw type feels more heavy duty. Does that matter, probably not. ... show more

Easily replaced the existing plug. I thought that the plug outlet cover was included as I saw it pictured on the item page. The cover is costly so the plug isn't a good value. Works fine but so would a standard plug.
