Rated 10W/ft at 32F (0C) for roof deicing. For roof deicing applications, you may need to buy clips and hangers separately.
- Energy SavingDesigned to maintain water temperature in the supply piping system, reducing or eliminating the delay in obtaining hot water at each fixture. You dont need to run showers or sinks for long periods of time to draw new hot water into the unit, which is a significant waste of water. Simply wrap the self-regulating heating cable around your hot water lines within the house to provide you with instant hot water.

Looks like a good product But i think it needed more insulation thickness on the cord, I tested the product by placing it in the freezer and it did worked before I Installed it recently this July 2020 for this winter and hope will last many more winters To come. I don’t know how long this Heatit cable will last with the summer heat up on the roof! It cost me Close to $500 for 400 ft to installed it on my tiny 1+ bedroom house that has 2 ft of overhang. There are companies that sell similar product for much more per foot but I still think this type of product and this product are is over priced! This is not a top of the line heat trace. With that said this is an excellent product on a tight budget to keep your pipes from freezing. took me about a half hour to install, an it got hot instantly after I plugged it in. it will do the job.

While the cable is not too hard to install, the clips you have to have to go with it are STUPID expensive for what they consist of. Also, when you receive the package, you'll find the instructions suggest you don't use an extension cord. How many houses have an outlet at or near their roofline? I called to find out you could use an extension cord as long as you're eventually plugged into a GFI outlet. Works well in my installation, which is keeping ice and snow from building up in a valley on a metal roof.

I replaced the heat tape in my gutters and downspouts with these. These were much more sturdy than the ones I replaced (even when they were new). But, these were flexible enough to snake down through my downspouts and into the drain tile with very little issue. Hasn't snowed here yet since I installed them so don't know how they perform but, based on build quality, I have little doubt they will do the job.
