Product originally got hung up with some Amazon nightmare where it wasn’t shipped yet but I couldn’t cancel it either, sat like that for about 2 weeks. I eventually bought another one which arrive the next day (really?!). The original one finally showed up the day after the second one arrived. What a pain Amazon. Anyways, the product was in mint condition and packaged well. The dimmer switch had clear and easy to use instructions compared to the competition (great job there, as tech items usually seem to fail in this department). The installation was easy and when it came to linking it up with Apple HomeKit, it was a breeze. Happened right away when I restored power to the switch. Had it for about a week now and never lost connection or have any issues with it directly. Now, that being said, the dimmer switch is great, but like many smart dimmer switches they have glitches with your existing lighting. Like flickering and jumpy step dimming. I have both problems and I want to add, since I have experience with many types of these switches, it’s not really the switches fault. Years ago I found out if you buy cheap LED lights (even though you think you didn’t…you have) you will have some glitches. Now, I have some led lights that I spent almost twice the price as the majority of other lights in my house, they did not have any glitches, they worked smoothly and flawlessly. So maybe keep that in mind. I personally don’t mind the glitches, because I’m saving a fortune using cheaper led lights, I really don’t mind, because when you have over 50-100 led lights in your house, expensive led lights can break the bank fast. I also want to add, that I’ve been using this companies products for a few years now and I really like them compared to the rest. I like the controlled dimming ability and the integration with Apple HomeKit. I recommend this product to my family, friends and all who read this review. Happy shopping!!

What can I say? It just works. This is my third brand of dimmer over the last few years and the only one that I am happy with. It supports thread networks and is as simple as scanning the QR code to get it working. It has been perfectly reliable for months. Other devices I've had would disconnect randomly (though they were still connected to WiFi, I can see it in the router) or miss a re-key requiring me to unplug/replug it back in. When you change the brightness, even on a schedule, it does a quick but gradual transition rather than a sudden jump. This has surprisingly been so much more calming. Other ones I've had it just changes at once "oh you want 70%? bam 70%". This one it goes through a proper transition like someone dialing a knob. Cannot understate how much nicer this is. It just works. Well. Does not require an account to setup. Love this thing. So simple. Such a sad state that something so basic as "it works" is such a relief.

So, there are people writing reviews both good and bad. Some of the bad reviews try to convince you they are very technically savvy, so it must be the fault of the device. We bought our current home just shy of 5 years ago and I started installing these shortly after. Since then we have installed 16 switches, both toggle and dimmers. I'm that time we have had no service failures. Occasionally when the WiFi or power gets interrupted the switches don't reconnect, but if you reset the breaker for that switch for 20 seconds it will rejoin its friends in the working world. Our shed is completely wireless, the outside mood lights, motion detectors etc. Our porch light comes on at sunset and turns itself off 20 minutes before sunrise. I have lights turn on before my wife gets ready for work so she can see on the stairs so she won't get hurt. Our daughters room lights up 5 minutes before her alarm is scheduled to go off to help her wake up more naturally. When my wife isn't answering her phone because it's on silent but I don't know what she wants from the grocery store, I can look to see which lights are on and I can flash them so she knows I'm trying to get ahold of her. When we travel, I can remotely stimulate our typical nights. With Alexa, we have commands like "watch television" which turns off all the downstairs lights and turns on a accent light in the living room. You can say Merry Christmas to Alexa and it turns on the outlets that we use for the tree and garland. The best part? My wife leaves lights on in the basement 40x's per day and I don't have to walk down there to turn them off. At night I tell Alexa "turn off everything" and all lights in the group "everything" turn off. I don't have to roam the house, I just wait 3 seconds for the confirmation that it is done for me. These second generation switches are super easy to connect to the network compared to the first gen. The first gen wasn't bad, but the process could be complicated by the device (phone etc) that you were using to connect with because of "intelligent" WiFi handling. These new 2nd gen skip all of that, saving a couple minutes and loads of frustration. We love them and talk about how much we appreciate them on a weekly basis, and have for the nearly 5 years. I bought this to replace an old pin timer that I use to turn on our outdoor soffit lights in the morning and evening. It took about 10 minutes to install, download the app and set a schedule for morning and evening. Super impressed. The lights come on and turn off at the specified times. I can also turn them on remotely if I want to. The switch works as a normal wall switch on and off. Great product. I will be ordering more to install when we travel to turn lights on and off!
