  • Perfectly Balanced & Not Overly Sweet – My New Favorite Protein!
Flavor Name: Chocolate Mocha Size: 2 Pound (Pack of 1)
This is honestly the best protein powder I have ever had. The biggest plus for me is that it’s not overly sweet. I usually struggle with protein powders because even when they don’t contain sugar, the monk fruit or stevia extract makes them taste extremely sweet — and I just can’t handle that artificial sweetness. But this one is completely different. The chocolate mocha flavor tastes amazing! It has a rich, smooth flavor that actually feels like I’m drinking a nice mocha instead of a protein shake. As someone who loves coffee, this flavor is absolutely perfect for me. It blends well, has a great texture, and doesn’t leave any weird aftertaste. I also appreciate that it doesn’t cause any bloating or discomfort like some other protein powders I’ve tried. It keeps me full for longer and helps me easily reach my daily protein goals. I truly couldn’t be happier with this product. It has become my go-to protein powder, and I will definitely continue buying it. Highly recommend to anyone who prefers a balanced taste without overpowering sweetness! ... show more

  • The "Real Deal" Protein Powder
Flavor Name: Chocolate Mocha Size: 2 Pound (Pack of 1)
This protein powder is one of the best on the market in terms of ingredients, taste and texture. I wanted to do an in-depth review of this product because I'm pretty sure there are plenty of folks like myself who are constantly looking for a healthy great tasting protein supplement without all the "junk" its made with. It's gets tiresome searching for that one protein powder that hits all the marks (including price point) and at the end of the day, you settle for the powder that has the least amount of sugar (or artificial sweeteners) for a decent price and just forget about it. As long as it tastes good and mixes well, all is good in the valley. I've had my share of trolling Amazon for that perfect powder, sometimes spending up to an an hour at a time to find one that I can live with long term. I've tried tons of different brands and some were awesome while others were not so awesome. Either way, the powders I chose had the least amount of artificial sweeteners and relatively low carbs. The taste and texture were the only elements that separated the good from the bad...that is...until I did a little more research on those "other" ingredients you usually see on labels. You know.....the ones with ingredient names that are nine syllables long and a bit of struggle to pronounce. I can honestly say, I disregarded those other ingredients for a long time as I figured they were just there to make up the composition of the powder. Never bothered with finding out what they actually were. There's one ingredient I found to be in all the powders I'd been consuming over the years that instantly changed the game for me. And that ingredient is Acesulfame Potassium (or Ace-K). This artificial sweetener is so bad for you healthwise, that it's actually banned in some countries. It's 200X sweeter than sugar and, needless to say, spikes your insulin levels ridiculously high and wreaks havoc on your liver. Consuming this ingredient (in any food product for that matter) is basically a health hazard and sadly, it's found in a majority of those "great tasting" protein powders we love, rant and rave about. This ingredient is most likely the cause of complaints I see about powders being overly sweet. I actually discarded a couple tubs of powder after discovering they both contained Acesulfame Potassium. Not this protein powder. Natural sweeteners like stevia leaf extract, monk fruit, cacao etc. are the best ingredients from a health standpoint (in my opinion). This protein powder is not candy sweet and doesn't taste what some would call "incredibly delicious" like a liquid dessert but it does offer a mild natural sweet taste that can be modified to suit your taste buds, if you prefer more sweetness. I actually prefer the mild sweet taste from the natural sweeteners because it doesn't overpower my tase buds with sugar to the point where dopemines are released and it just tastes natural, like I should be drinking this, that it was meant to be. There's a sense of comfort knowing that your protein drink is optimized for your best health. That's what this protein powder offers. Just as it says on the label "Nothing Fake. Ever" The texture is very fine, almost dust-like, so it mixes extremely well. Clumps are nonexistent. I got the Chocolate Mocha flavor and let me tell you...the mocha coffee taste is real. Mildly sweet and just a joy to drink alone with almond milk, water, mixed into a smoothie or in your coffee. Compare the ingredients of this powder to the article of ingredients you find on most other powders and ask yourself the obvious. I'll say it again, this powder is the real deal in every aspect from the cost to the texture to the taste to the ingredients. I highly recommend. The most important takeaway from this is whether you decide on this powder or another, just make sure whatever you choose doesn't contain Acesulfame Potassium. Your health will thank you later. All the best ... show more

  • Have been buying this for years
Flavor Name: Chocolate Mocha Size: 5 Pound (Pack of 1)
Our family absolutely LOVES this protein powder and the taste. It's pretty clean in terms of ingredients. Affordable for the amount you get and a great source of protein. super easy to dissolve in smoothies, regular milk and almond milk.

  • Nicely flavored protein supplement with an emphasis on being 'natural'
Flavor Name: Chocolate Mocha Size: 2 Pound (Pack of 1)
This is a review for the 'Chocolate Mocha' flavor of Levels 100% Grass Fed Whey. So, I started working out regularly again, and looked into the wild, vast field of protein supplements. Before taking Levels' product, I was using MyProtein's Whey Isolate Chocolate Smooth. I was primarily looking for an alternative sourced from ethically minded dairy farms, and decided to give Levels a try. Looking at the ingredients list, there seems to be a focus on keeping things 'natural'. There are no added sugars, and they use two sweeteners to enhance the flavor. One is stevia leaf extract, and the other is monk fruit extract. In other whey protein powders, I sometimes see artificial sweeteners like sucralose. One point there, if you're concerned about that. Non-GMO sunflower lecithin is another notable ingredient. Lecithin is used to improve the texture of whey protein powders when mixed (gives that smooth/silky feel). Soy lecithin is the cheapest and most commonly used form, so you'll find it often in other whey protein powders. Now, you can read up all sorts of stuff about the dangers of soy, soy lecithin, extraction methods of soy lecithin, and soy allergies. Some of it may be overblown, some of it may be valid. If soy is a concern to you, though, the usage of sunflower lecithin in Levels offers an alternative. Finally, we round things out with decaffeinated coffee and cacao powder, which presumably provide the lion's share of the chocolate mocha flavor. As for the flavor itself, I would say it is neither weak nor strong, but it does get quite muddled, the more stuff you add to your shake. For me, the flavor really comes out in a minimal mix - a banana, cashew milk, and a scoop of the powder. There's definitely some sweetness there, but not overwhelming, even with the addition of a banana. Instead, it's got this pleasant earthiness blended in, which I presume comes from the coffee. It's not going to blow you away with intensity, I think, but it's still nice enough that I look forward to one after a workout. Again, the only thing is that if you like adding stuff, it doesn't take a whole lot for the flavor to get lost in the mix. Minor quibbles - 1.After the efficient, resealable bags offered by MyProtein, I find the big jar Levels' whey protein comes in to be rather bulky. Then again, maybe the container is more recyclable than a bag. 2. I mentioned MyProtein earlier. One of the reasons they are the current go to brand is because of third party lab testing confirming protein content. labdoor.com published results for MyProtein brands, which show them consistently ranking quite high. If Levels could do something similar with an independent testing company, it might be useful to folks who are thinking of trying out a new product. All that aside, my one major issue is the lack of readily available information on a few things. From their website: "Levels Grass-Fed Whey comes from certified humane suppliers across the country and we guarantee our whey is from 100% grass-fed pasture raised dairy cows." Awesome. However, I could not locate any information on who these suppliers are, in order to independently verify if they are actually certified humane and their livestock primarily subsist on grass. If it's on the website and I somehow missed it, I'll edit the review as necessary. Otherwise, this is a perfectly fine whey protein powder, with selective use of ingredients and a stated commitment to using 100% grass fed and humanely treated cows. ... show more
