  • superb quality and bokeh
really awesome lens. great for portraits or wildlife if you can get close enough to your subject. Very sharp, one of my favorites in the bag.

  • A Home Run
Outstanding lens. Laser sharp, excellent contrast & focuses quickly (hit rate was ~9 out of 10 using AFS with ambient indoor lighting and wide open - pretty good for an adapted lens) on the MC-11 on a Sony A7RII. It's quite heavy, especially for a lens of this focal length. Hauling it around for a few hours will take it's toll, but you eventually acclimate to the heft - and the resulting images are worth it. ... show more

  • Stupendous lens!
I’ve used this lens for astrophotography and it is exceptional in that challenging application. I’ve also use it for some portraits and other photographs here and there and it is also performed flawlessly. Worth every penny and each ounce (carrying it). This is my fourth ART series lens. Previously, I was strictly a canon lens guy. SIGMA has changed my mind about that though. ... show more

  • A Nice Upgrade from The Canon L
I've been shooting weddings with this now for about two months. It replaced my Canon 135 L. First impression was that it was way heavier and built like a beast. After about four weddings, I'm very impressed. It focuses much faster than the Canon and is very sharp. During dark receptions, I still have a bit of trouble getting autofocus without an assist light at times but it's much better than my old lens. I've been shooting mostly around 2.8. I don't usually goto 1.8 unless I'm really needing the additional light. I'm shooting on a mark 4 with a grip so it's pretty well balanced. I'm also a pretty big guy so the size doesn't bother me. I could see someone smaller or someone with a smaller camera body feeling that it was too heavy or too big. ... show more

  • Great lens
I have many RF and EOS Canon lenses. They are great and I love them. This lens is awesome! I love the bokeh and it seems pretty quick to focus compared to my other lens. Would buy again and may try some other art lens.

  • Beautiful photos, lens showing wear
I have relied on this lens to achieve some of my favorite photos. They always come out stunning. Unfortunately, it’s starting to come apart around where it connects to the camera, so I will be visiting a repair shop soon. This is my second Sigma lens to do this. It causes focus issues.

  • Focus is crap
Buy the Tamron or Canon. So many focus issues with sigma. It was a great lens at first (only a couple of months), but now rarely do I get a super sharp image. Almost always get soft focus. Don't bother with sigma. Invest in a better lens. If I knew what I know now about sigma (reading hundreds of reviews on different sites and could return this lens, I 100% would. ... show more

  • Amazing
This is the new portrait lens for me. Pics are so sharp and clear without the need for editing. I love this lens, for the quality and well built. The downside is the weight, it is a little heavy to hold, but I don't mind as long as my shots are perfect. It's fast when autofocusing at any aperture; it's an expensive toy for sure, but worth every penny. I love it!! ... show more
