Breaking down my review into topics, but I'll say right off the bat these deserve 5 stars! Use: I had these on auto delivery for a while because they were so good. Perfect for the casual user if you're wanting to add more protein to your diet or supplement a workout. 30g of protein isn't mind blowing and body builders might pass on this, but it was perfect for me, and protein in much higher amounts all at once is not giving you the benefit you think it is anyway. Price: Great price on Amazon. In the past I've bought a 12-pack for $16 and you can't beat that... but $20 for 12 is still a great deal considering these cost $7-$9 for a 4-pack at Kroger. You're hard pressed to find another protein shake for such a good value and flavor. Taste: The price may not even be the best part. These are rich, creamy, and actually taste very similar to chocolate milk (no one's ever going to match the real thing of course). They don't have the gross "protein shake" taste or texture. Very easy to drink, you forget there's 30g of protein. I can't say I've tried a ton of other protein shakes on the market, but I don't need to since I've found these. And 140 calories is awesome. Packaging: Some people have commented on the packaging and expiration dates. In all my shipments (there were probably at least 5 total?) there were no issues. Came in great shape, well packaged, prompt, no complaints. The cap screwed off and back on easily, but I always drank them quickly because they were so good so never needed to re-screw the cap. They're also compact so they don't take up a ton of room in the fridge. Overall: 5+ stars. Seriously, just try these. If you don't like them someone you know probably will. ... show more

I normally LOVE LOVE LOVE Vanilla Pure Protein Shakes. They are my go-to breakfast. They taste amazing, give me the protein I need, and keep me going until lunch. They are also a great substitute for coffee creamer for those on Keto, low sugar diets, etc. Based on the product alone I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. This review is based solely on my experience with my order. I’m also posting here for 2 reasons: 1. To warn everyone to check the dates on their cartons as soon as they arrive 2. Amazon makes it impossible to figure out how to contact the seller directly! I could initiate a refund but that doesn’t put me in contact with a real human. I also can’t get my refund without actually mailing the product back. That’s an issue because I can’t return what I already drank nor do I want to go to the post office during a pandemic to return that rest that’s spoiled and just going in the trash anyway (hello, Delta Variant and Delta Plus-- I’m staying my butt home!). I’m hoping someone from Amazon sees this review and reaches out to me. Here’s what happened: Per my photo, you can see I bought 2 12-pack cases of Vanilla Pure Protein on 6/6/21 and they arrived 6/7 packaged perfectly (so the return window is 30 days/Jul 7th as pictured). I drank the first couple of shakes and didn’t notice anything weird. By the 3rd or 4th shake (I drink them almost every morning for breakfast), I noted little congealed chunks going into my mouth when I got to the bottom of the carton. I assumed I didn’t shake it up enough before opening and that was caused by the product settling or something. The next day I made sure to shake it up really well. Still chunks. I wondered if they could have gone a little weird in shipping because of the extreme heat (I’m in the desert, it’s been 110+). But since they didn’t taste spoiled I thought maybe the heat just affected the texture a little and it was fine. Each morning, chunks. And they kept getting worse--bigger, more frequent--not just at the bottom of the carton but in the first sip. Yes, I’m the dim one for not looking at the date immediately. That should have been my first thought. I don’t know WHAT I was thinking or why I didn’t think to do that. It’s a mystery and it’s a regret I will have for the rest of my life, LOL. I think it’s because they tasted ok despite being curdled. In my mind, if something like this (dairy-like) is actually spoiled it tastes sour. Lesson learned! Anyway, I got nine shakes into the first case until I thought to check the expy date on the carton. NINE CURDLED SHAKES. The entire case (and the second one I bought on the same day but hadn’t opened yet) expired on APRIL 29 2021! They arrived 6/7 and I was drinking them until 6/26! OMG. So now not only do I not have breakfasts to drink, I wasted $40, and I’m kinda traumatized. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to drink a fresh shake again without thinking of the chunks and feeling grossed out and sick. I think this experience may have permanently ruined my favorite protein shake for me which sucks because I finally found *the perfect* breakfast. I need to pause my scheduled auto-delivery of Pure Protein for a while (or maybe forever). As I mentioned, I would really like to speak with a real human so I can get my $ back for these 2 cartons without having to mail in a return. Sending a spoiled case of shakes plus my remaining 3 loose shakes back in the mail is pointless (and dangerous with the pandemic. I’m immunocompromised, in an area where many aren’t vaccinated, and don’t want to stand in line at the post office for something that already completely pissed me off and grossed me out). The absolute best protein source on the market rn. I’ve done a lot of broscience research and have found these shakes to be the optimal protein source for us broke bois because they’re actually cheaper than buying a big tub of protein and 100x easier than having to bring a shaker to your work or class so that you can make a quick shake. It’s so easy popping one of these out and shotgunning them at anytime of the day. YES the packaging is pretty bad and 1 box in every 4 boxes your shakes are gonna be curdled bc the flimsy seal was broken under the cap lol but I’ve chugged boxes of the curdled ones and I’ve been fine. If you’re too soft for it, pay the extra for the cute shakes with sub 30g hahaha these are literally the goat. The curdles just give them texture, like you got some grass jelly in it... Anyways I cannot Stan these enough especially when they boast 30g in one drink. Also the other flavors are decent and worth a try when you want to mix it up but classic chocolate never gets old. If you’re trying to get past 2 plates on bench and need all the protein you can get for the cheapest price possible, these are it. ... show more
