We looked at all the smart locks on Amazon, and after considering looks and features, we went with this lock. The packaging is very much in the Apple style, with clear instructions. I didn't measure the hole in my door for the lock, and the one I wanted to use was too small. Fortunately, I have three locks; the second one I chose had ample room. I did need to use my multitool and chisels to make room for the larger strike plate. Once installed, the software is easy to use. The only concern I still have is how much actual range the keypad has because I had to try several times to get it to link with the lock from less than ten feet away. The process is straightforward for the average DIY person. I know it's a challenge to measure the lock hole diameter in the winter because you must remove the existing lock for an accurate measurement. But not having to fumble with keys when coming home in the dark or rain and snow is well worth the effort. This is an excellent investment. Thank You, Level Lock, for making a great product.

I've been on the lookout for a smart lock that checks all the right boxes and Level hit a home run with the Lock Connect Keypad! I wanted a smart lock that didn't look like a smart lock, but still had a keypad, and the ability to control it while we're away from home. Installing the lock was pretty straight forward and the ability to mount the keypad away from my door makes it very discreet (it's actually invisible as you're walking up to my front door). My wife loves the way it looks and the kids are excited they don't have to remember their keys anymore!

I upgraded our main lock to our front door with this smart lock. Installation was straight forward and setting it up to our wifi and Google hub was also effortless. I really enjoyed just using the phone app in unlocking this door. So far after a few weeks, I’ve had no issues with this feature. I also installed the keypad but had to take it down due to our HOA not approving for this “alteration” to the outside aesthetics. The Google hub aspect has been a hit or miss, with it not responding to my requests to unlock about 50% of the time. Also, make sure you have the handle unlocked too because it would defeat the purpose of this (found out the hard way). Overall, nice upgrade and moving our home to a more smart one.

This is a great device and value. Installed this in a family use sometimes rental. It has lots of customization to track and allow usage. It was easy to install both the keypad, connect, and the deadbolt. I like that folks can just use the app. Looks nice and durable. Very cool.

I've been impressed with Level locks since my father-in-law installed them in his home several years ago. We found them to be a helpful way for Dad to keep track of my mother-in-law, who was wandering due to Alzheimers. The Level Lock Connect WiFi Smart Lock & Keypad offers three key advantages: Smart Upgrade without Visible Alterations: If you have a matching set of deadbolt and handset, you can seamlessly transform your deadbolt into a smart lock without any noticeable changes or mismatched hardware. Effortless Installation and Remote Control: Installation is straightforward, and with the optional WiFi hub, you can remotely control your lock via the internet, making it a truly smart lock. Remote Operation Via WIFI and Bluetooth Control: This lock provides a wide variety of methods for controlling the lock, including remote over wifi and internet, local over the Level app and by a local keypad. Installation and Operation The lock fits seamlessly into most existing deadbolt housings, replacing the inner workings while leaving the outer body and cylinder untouched. You may notice the Level lock when examining the bolt and its extension plate, but with the door closed, the change is entirely undetectable. Installation also involves replacing your current strikeplate with a Level strikeplate that minimizes friction, a crucial step due to the lock's single battery, which fits within the bolt itself. However, the WiFi hub offers several advantages: Direct Internet Connection: It connects directly to the internet, eliminating the need to register your Level lock with Amazon, Google, or Apple. Extended Range: You don't have to worry about the smart home hub being too far from your lock, as the WiFi hub provides extended range. Power Considerations One potential drawback of the Level lock system is that power demands on the lock can lead to faster battery depletion. This can occur due to factors like a poorly aligned bolt or a distant Bluetooth connection. This is the best version now with a keypad. The problem I've experienced over the years are people that refuse to install the app to get in. No one wants to get it but me. I send it to them all the time and they don't want to create an account or download. So this is PERFECT. I started with the original level lock. This is an upgrade that adds a $80 option for wifi. I actually had no idea that my original level lock wasn't hooked up to the wifi but I guess that explains how sometimes it wouldn't open when I was not nearby. You can ditch the wifi plugin for $20 savings but overall it's a $80 value that you might as well get. Another improvement has been that you can now use your Apple Watch or Alexa to open/close the door. For the general lock, mine didn't quite fit with the plate. I just left out the plate and it wasn't secure but I'm in a super safe area and past houses that would be targets before mine so it was ok. That's something you might experience or you might have to modify your door. I like how long the battery lasts and how easy it is to replace. One problem we experienced (without the apple watch) was being locked out with the automatic lock IF you didn't leave with your phone. But that is now solved with the watch or keypad I love how this company started with something and made improvements over time.
