My new home already had a level deadbolt. I added the keypad so I could give an entry code to anybody without them having to have the Level app. It was pretty easy to install and set up and has been working fine for 2 months. I even use it myself when I go for a walk and don't want to carry a key. Overall I am happy with it. The lack of touch response is weird. When I give someone the code I warn them about it. I also tell them to press each number deliberately and separately, not fast like they're texting. I found that having double numbers in a code compounds the problem. So now I'm very specific and tell ppl how to press each number and lift their finger off before pressing it a second time, and I verbally model a very slow sequence of pressing keys. Which is pretty weird in this high tech era. I wish there were letters as wells as numbers on the keypad because I like to remember codes with words, or be able to tell someone the code is "turkey" or whatever. I had to call customer service because I put the bracket on the keypad before installing and then I couldn't get it off to actually do the installation. I searched for the answer unsuccessfully. So that's irritating, that I had to call customer service for a simple step, a step you need in fact when you need to change the battery. Just so you'll know, there's a tiny notch in the keypad cover to put a paper clip in to release the 2 parts. ... show more

No haptic feedback when pressing buttons makes this a little frustrating to use. You have to slowly and deliberately press the keys. More often than not, you will get it wrong because you went to fast and the keypad did not pick up what you were inputting correctly.

I recently bought the Level Smart Lock for my house, and while it pretty much comes with everything you would need for access (key cards, physical key, and virtual key through the app via BT), my family had become accustomed to using a key pad from our last lock so we opted to pick up the keypad. Man this thing is clean and easy to set up. You just connect it via BT and register the device with your Level app and it works in a 25 ft range just like the app would. Simple to set a code, plus you can set permanent or expiring codes for guests, house cleaners, etc. Mounts with double sided tape to any surface. This is a no-brainer purchase for anyone with the Level system looking to add even more convenience to an already near-perfect smart lock system. We bought the lock and keypad. We love the lock, it is a lot quieter than our August Lock. This keypad on the other hand..... I love how it looks, I love its profile and the installation is great, but when the temp drops below 50 degrees it's like gambling on whether the keypad is going to work or not. Once it stops working we have to pull out the batteries to reset it and hope that it doesn't stop working again. It's so annoying that I'm getting really close to buying an Apple Homepod just so I can use Siri to unlock the door so I don't have to mess with this stupid keypad. ... show more

I recently locked myself out of the house on accident without my phone, keycard or a key. I had my watch, but my home base wasn’t connecting to my Level lock. I always felt my watch was my last resort if I ever got locked out but when I needed it, it didn’t work. I found the keypad when looking for extra keycards. We like having this. It was easy to install and easy to create passcodes. The numbers light up enough to know you selected it correctly. I’m glad there’s no button to press since I’ve seen other keypads and after time there’s damage and numbers disappearing. I’m hoping this will last longer with out buttons. Some vibrations would be nice when you touch the numbers but it would probably also wear the batteries down faster. Overall, we’re happy we got this. ... show more

The install was much easier than the Level lock and it all worked exactly as the instructions said it would.
