I tried using the instructions from another user on putting the charger in plug-and-play mode. But those instructions did not work. I contacted the seller and was given another set of instructions that worked. Please use these instructions if you want to disable the RFID card: 1: Power off 2: press the emergency switch 3:power on(buzzer alarming for 30 seconds. 4:reset the emergency switch (turn the emergency switch clockwise.). I haven't tested the weatherproof feature yet. We'll see what happens after the next rain showers.

Opened up the inside, the charger looks well built. There are seals on all the right areas and conformal coating on some key components. The gauge of the wires going in all look like the correct size. The color status is simple and easy to see. Blue for ready, green for connected, blinking for charging. The plug connectors on both ends are well built. The app is barebones, but quick and usable, the charger connected to my smartphone in less than 30 seconds after downloading the "SmartLife" app. You can set a precise charge current in 1 amp increments from 8amps to 48amps, and can set start and end times. It has real-time data of the current and voltage and some basic email reporting features. Not bad for a free little app. From the factory it is set to only work with RFDI or SmartLife App control. I wanted to put it into "plug and play" mode and the customer service team was very responsive. Note: when you perform the reset on the EVSE it will default back to 48amps, connect to it via the app to set charge current. 1.) Plug in, wait for blue light 2.) Press E-stop, status will be red and will have a buzzer 3.) Unplug, wait 30sec 4.) Plug in, wait until buzzers turns off (about 45seconds), red status light will stay on 5.) Reset the e-stop by turning clockwise 6.) If OK with 48amp output, plug and play, if not connect via SmartLife 7.) Set charge current back to 40amps Hope this helps, if you get stuck I recommend reaching out the customer service team, they have a video that goes though the steps, it's a little rough around the edges, but gets the job done. Overall, nice little EVSE. I have 6/3 romex that can support 40amps continuous. My wife and I share a 2023 Bolt EUV, and the extra charge rate helps for those high usage days.

Easy to install and use. Charges vehicle not fast but good enough. Beats trying to find a charging stand or going out at 11pm to charge in public.

This Borenor home EV charger gives you options depending on your configuration at home. You can use the preexisting NEMA 14-50 connector for a plug n play solution and get up to 40A max out of it. If you prefer to get the full 48A of charging current, you have the option to hardwire this into a 60A circuit and get faster charging. This charger also has WIFI built in and a smartphone app used to adjust your current and schedule your charging sessions as you find convenient. The charger is IP55 rated, and gives you adjustability from 16A-24A-32A-40A with the NEMA 14-50 plug option. This charger has a longer cable measuring 25 Feet long. Mounting hardware and holster are included for a clean install. Standard J1772 connector. This charger has a very unique feature that i havent seen on other home chargers; an EMERGENCY stop button on the side.

I am happy with this charger. We installed this at my mother in laws house so we can charge when we visit. As far as price it fell right in the middle of what is out there, and it fit our budget. This charger feels well made and has a 25' charging cable that makes it easier to get to our charging port without having to pull all the way in the garage. The plugs feel well made and fit well with no play but not difficult to remove. We have used this charger a handful of times and have had no issues. We are pleased with this charger, and we would buy it again. 5 STARS
