I really like this charging station for many reasons. Many other charging stations are missing key features that this one does have. Many charging stations do not have a place to connect the J1772 side once you're done charging, this one has it. It's a huge factor to consider when purchasing a EV charging station because you don't want to have the connector dangling. I absolutely love that feature and not having to purchase something separate to put away the connector. Secondly, The cable wraps around easily around the charging station. The cable itself is long and by being able to wrap the cable around the station ensures that there is no tripping hazard. Due to the weight of the cable, be sure when mounting the charging station to mount it onto a stud securely. It is absolutely imperative that you do so. Third, there are several indicator lights to help you know that the unit is powered on and connected, and whether the unit is charging, or if there is a fault. Fourth, the unit is also Wi-Fi enabled allowing you to control the charging station remotely. I don't personally use it since I use my vehicle's app to control and schedule charging, but this will provide additional control and functionality, which I love. It's better to have overdesign and think of everything rather than less functionality. Finally, the fact that wiring is coming from the bottom allows me to easily remove the 14-50P cable and hard wire it in the future. it's very easy to remove, you just need two pliers. Now, you do this at your own risk and this requires opening up the charging station, but I personally know enough about electronics to know how to perform this upgrade. I will be running 1" EMT down from my main breaker panel and will feed this EV charging station in the future and it will look much much cleaner. That is the hugest plus for me. For most people, you will likely want to get an electrician to install a NEMA 14-50R receptacle in your garage like I have and mount this charging station next to it. Again, be sure you mount it to studs or offset the studs so that it's mounted securely to handle the weight of the cable if you plan to hold the cable wrapped around the charging station. I am able to pull 40A with my vehicle, though there are 48A charging stations out there. The price for this charging station is fair considering charging stations that pull higher amperage require thicker wires or a lower AWG (gauge) wire for the higher current. Price is great, the product is designed very well and very full function. I'm very pleased with the length of the cable and the amount of charging I can do with this charging station. The normal voltage I get when I pull 40A is somewhere around 235V so if you multiply those two, I add about 9.4kWH every hour I charge. Overnight, I charge between 9 PM and in the morning for 8 hours and I always get a full charge at the start of every day. Very pleased with this charging station, it is absolutely a 5/5 without a doubt. It's also really nice that there is a 6-50 version, if you want to save on the cost of installation. The difference between the 6-50 version and 14-50 version is that there is a neutral omitted, so if you want to tell your electrician you want to install a 6-50 receptacle at your house, you need one less wire, potentially saving 1/4 of the cost. Neutral is not used in electric vehicle charging stations and therefore can be omitted as long as you are using the 6-50R. Nice trick if you are doing a new installation. The price is the same so I would definitely take advantage of that.

Many charging stations don't have a spot to interface the J1772 side whenever you're finished charging, this one has it. It's a tremendous component to consider while buying an EV charging station since you would rather not have the connector hanging. I totally love that component and not buying something separate to take care of the connector. I will make that changing the foundation aware of be for all time set up from the pre-presented plug connector was not a silliness task. I expected to do this to construct the capacity to 40 amp. Considering how the genuine charger gathers, it made the foundation more inconvenient. My electrical master expected to connect the channel and wiring with the unit swung away from the wall. Then the unit should be fixed back together from the back preceding mounting to the wall to complete the foundation. It makes for a very wonderful present when it's done, but may require more prominent venture and cost more money to complete this especially various brands. It may be easier to remain with the pre-wired fitting and settle for 40 amps. Quality is awesome, size is perfect, easy to present. I have not wrecked about in the application yet it looks wonderful, and has numerous components. At the expense, you cant end up being terrible. Fourth, the unit is additionally Wi-Fi empowered permitting you to control the charging station from a distance. I don't by and by utilize it since I utilize my vehicle's application to control and timetable charging, yet this will give extra control and usefulness, which I love. It's smarter to have overdesign and consider everything instead of less usefulness.

This is relatively easy to install, or at least it should be. If they made the plug-end a couple of inches longer it would make life much easier! This is designed to be installed to the right-hand side of the outlet, so they give you a short cord on the left side of the box. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to install on the left side of the outlet, meaning I had to perfectly place the charger next to the outlet to make the cable reach. This made installation a bit tricky. Nonetheless, the unit quickly and easily paired with my iPhone via bluetooth, then with that connection was able to see my WiFi. This thing actually has a jack for a hardwire internet connection should you want to do that, as well as a sim card connector. It did need a firmware update which was done easily from my phone as well. The phone app is a bit rudimentary and not the most user friendly, but it does work. I'm hopeful they'll update that as time goes on. I do think you can find some better priced options out there, but overall, this appears to be a solid unit and it performs well.
