So apparently windows now has this thing calls S mode which prevents users from installing programs from outside of the "windows store" among other "useful" "features" this machine comes pre configured with S mode enabled. This is something that really should be an opt-in/out in the first time set up boot menu. This basically means one cannot install or use programs like firefox among others without disabling it or use anything outside of their "store." I've spent about 3 hours trying to disable it and it's just not happening because MS servers refuse to authenticate the request. I'm wiping windows and installing Linux once I decide on a distro. Also the Win11 GUI is bad, very bad, and why am I getting advertisements. Edit: ended up returning the machine as I dont have time to deal with it. Seller was easy to deal with and upgrading the review to a 3 from a 1. My rating for MS and lenovo is still 1 however. ... show more
