Every year i put down compost in the yard. Normally it takes a few weekends to complete and spread it out by shovel/hand. I’m normally exhausted and my legs are locking up. So I ordered this compost roller with high hopes. Well, it came with a rusted handle and a broken clasp on one side. Very very …very disappointed, so at this point I will definitely recommend an alternate brand to family and friends that are looking to reinvigorate their yards. If i had more time I’d return it and get another but I had 2-3yds of compost ready to go and an HOA thats salivating at the thought of writing me up for a pile of dirt in the driveway. I settled with the coating/rust issue and mended the clasp using a reusable zip tie. Once i got it mended… it was insanely FAST!!!! I got about 2yrds evenly dispersed between the front and back yards in just a under 3-4hrs with very little effort and it reduced the amount of bending over by like 90%. I had no issues with my legs and back which was great. If the wife ever helped me out in the yard, i could have gotten it done in half the time.

Nice concept however, the holes were to large in my opinion. Where you loaded the machine with the Peat Moss a large amount would be on the ground. Also, when you push the machine you needed to move consistently or you would have lots of the Peat Moss in one spot.

So, how do YOU level your lawn? A rake can tear up your turf, and it’s hard to get an even distribution. This gizmo applies soil in a very even manner, so if you’re just leveling out some uneven spots, this is perfect. I’ve also used it with a mix of soil and pre-germinated grass seed to get a very even coverage.

The device allows me to spread the compost evenly throughout my garden and on my lawn. When the device is inverted and properly supported it can be used as a sifter to separate the dirt from the pulled weeds. The baked embossed black paint should keep the device from rusting, but I'm afraid the locking mechanism over the opening will eventually fail.
