We ordered these chairs to go with a new kitchen remodel. Our local furniture store quoted us almost fifty dollars more for one chair that would take anywhere from 8-10 weeks for arrival. For less money we got two chairs and received them in 2 days with Amazon Prime. What could go wrong with that? In a word, nothing. The chairs are built from solid wood and appear to be of good construction all around. All the hardware was there to put them together, the only thing you need in addition to the included parts is a screwdriver. It took a little work to get them level, but was not hard. We were a little apprehensive about not having a padded back, but it turns out the back height is just right and very comfortable. The cross piece in the front provides for a great foot rest, and the seat cushion is very comfortable. The color of the wood is a very dark brown, and is uniform throughout the pieces. The seat cushion is very light, almost an off-white or cream color. It looks like it will probably pick up dirt, but seems easy to clean. Heck, for the price it would be easy to have them recovered to match whatever color you want. So far we're very happy with these and will be ordering another set. I am in the middle of a big remodel. So, I had limited funds to buy bar stools. I went with these because of the price. The ones I really want are over $300 per bar stool. I know I will end up replacing these down the road. In the meantime, I believe they will serve my families needs. They are cheap, both money and appearance. The cloth material is soft, but I fear it will not hold up over time. Two of the bar stools wobble. I will have to install a fix for both chairs, easy enough. But, it is too bad that they came this way. With all that said, I would buy them again for my current needs. The price worked for me and I was able to select a color that worked for my decor. If you are looking for a top quality bar stool though, this is not the one. ... show more

The barstools arrived quickly. I assembled both in less than an hour by reading the directions and laying and identifying out the hardware first. The process was not complicated. I removed the plastic bumper on the bottom of the feet and replaced with thick felt pads so that my hardwoods are more protected. The stools are attractive and comfortable - a value for the price. The fabric is a light grey weave - not sure how it cleans up yet...we're telling the kids to be careful ;o). Pleased with my purchase! ... show more

These are the best $165 I've ever spent! I searched and searched for the perfect counter height chairs and finally pulled the trigger on these gems! These are so comfortable!!! The fabric is fabric, not plastic like some reviews suggest. It is a nice upholestry type fabric. Seems durable. The color is a very light tan-gray almost beige. The perfect neutral color. The wood is a weathered dark gray. Assembly was kind of pain, but I put both together myself in less than an hour. The seat height does measure right at 24" from floor, but when you sit in them, they sink just a bit. I tried to attach photos, but they wouldn't attach. ... show more

Tried to contact the vendor by email (multiple emails on their website and other sites - not valid and undeliverable) and by phone (stayed on hold and it goes to a fax machine?). Unsuccessful in reaching them through these various methods. The stools are only 6 months old and should be under "warranty", assuming you can get ahold of anyone? Stool 1: This stool has never been sturdy and is now on the verge of falling apart. The bolts constantly loosen, requiring retightening every few days. Even with frequent adjustments, it remains wobbly and unstable. Stool 2: Recently, this stool has started having the same problem. The bolts are loosening, and it’s becoming increasingly wobbly. I’m concerned that one of us might sit on it and it could collapse, potentially causing an injury. Given the light use these stools have received, I would have expected them to last at least two years. ... show more

Very low quality. Much of the wood surrounding the drilled holes was splintered and chipped, and a few of the pegs on the side stretchers (the bars that connect the legs towards the bottom of the stool) were so over-bent that they didn't line up properly. On the plus side these chairs look great (provided you don't examine too closely) and are very easy to assemble with clear instructions. At $160 for the pair I feel like I definitely overpaid based on the quality of the materials. ... show more

I was mildly hesitant to order these chairs based on some the the more critical reviews centered on ease of assembly and durability/strength of the chairs. I have to believe the several reviews that lamented on the level of difficulty assembling the chairs failed to read the 1 page assembly instruction (1-sided of 1 page to boot). The chairs were "easy-breezy" to put together...if you take 2 minutes to familiarize yourself with the parts and instruction steps. Took me about 15 minutes to assemble each chair - taking my time. Once fully and properly assembled I am pleasantly surprised by how sturdy the chairs are. While light, they feel completely solid (and quite comfortable) when I plop my 210 pound frame down onto them. My wife and children love, LOVE these chairs. I do too. If the chairs start to come apart over time, I shall revisit this review and provide an update, but as of right now they are an easy 5-star purchase. ... show more
