Got the LEGO Technic Backhoe Loader (42197) for my son as an intro Technic set. Around 100 pieces — easy for him to build with a little help, not frustrating. For a small set it actually does stuff: front bucket lifts, back arm digs, stabilizers fold down, so he can “work” with it instead of just parking it on a shelf. Got this for my kid who's really into construction stuff and it was a total hit. The build kept them busy for a while and the moving parts are super cool once it's done. The bucket and arm actually work and it rolls really smoothly. Feels solid and well made like most Technic sets. We had fun building it together and it looks great on the shelf now.
