Had it 4 days..so far loving it! We can't use a gas cap so I had to settle for electric, but this one is pretty good asthetically esp for the price. It takes the chill off my large living RM( doesn't heat it& does take time) it could be warmer though the thermostat goes to 84' and the blower is almost unnoticeable. Heat comes out of the front top otherwise the glass remains cool to touch - great for kids n pets. It looks fairly real from a little distance with the variable flame speed and flame brightness with lights in the ember bed logs and flames behind. Also the openable glass doors and wire curtain as well as the interior brick mk it more believable. Add soft crackles or roaring spitting to mk it even more realistic. Can be used flame alone or heat alone as well. There is mood lighting from above but that's not my thing- I want it to be like a real fire. Set- up and operation is a breeze if you already have a 3 prong outlet- I added a GFI as well for safety and would not put any other appliance on the same circuit. Hoping this lasts for yrs. For the price it was a good compromise some electric to were running thousands- yes some are even more realistic but this one does the job.

We bought the LegendFlame Damon 39 Inche Electric Fireplace Insert based on the positive reviews and because it was the only high scoring insert with the proper dimensions for our fireplace opening. We are very happy with it. Installation was simple, just insert, then remove and put some pieces of flat wood on the fireplace floor to level it, reinsert, plug it in. We're using it with the cord exposed but concealed behind a magazine holder. There are plenty of options to show just flames or just fan or multiple heating modes. The flames look like real fire. The fake logs look as real as others we've seen. Our livingroom is larger at 27x18 feet and after 45 minutes it noticeably warms the room. For evening use the different colors of interior lighting make for nice ambience. The one feature we don't use is the optional sounds of cracking fire. I've lived in a home with a wood fireplace that had fan ducts in the wall that were the same heigth as these heat ducts so this is common placement, however when sitting in front of the fireplace the heat hits the back of the neck, unlike a wood or gas fireplace that warms through the glass. Not a negative, just an observation. The remote control worked well for 5 months of constant use, then the display would light up but the screen was blank with no functions shown although it still controlled the varied fireplace options. We called the company listed in the manual in Riverside, California and they sent a replacement remote the same day which arrived fast and worked fine. Cudos for superior customer service.

I needed an insert that would look realistic to install on a woodburning fireplace which had a deteriorated chimney that had been capped off. I really wanted an insert that had opening glass doors and a screen so that it would look like a real woodburning fireplace, and this was perfect. The cost is a little more for that, but I think it s worth it. The remote allows you to control the heat (off, low, high), has a thermostat to control the temperature. The adjustment for that "speed" of the flames is a nice bonus. I like everything about it. It puts out a decent amount of heat (on high), but keep in mind it is just a 750 or 1,5oo watt heater, depending on what level you have it on, so it is the same as a basic electric space heater. You are not going to heat your house with this, but that is not what it is designed for. I had seem some negative comments regarding the sound on this. I find the sound to be pretty realistic. Unless you have a much larger speaker than any of the inserts have, you are not going to get completely accurate crackling sounds. I did find the sound on this was very good - better than I expected, based on other reviews. Plus, you can tur the sound on or off from the remote. I have only had it installed for a couple of weeks, so I cannot comment on the long term durability. Based on what I currently know, I would not hesitate to buy it again. One other nice feature is that you can have the power cord run out the front at the bottom (it has a small notch for that) or have it plugged in behind (which is what I wanted, since a cord out the front would make it seem much less realistic. Keep in mind that it is a 1500 watt heater (when set on high) so you do need a circuit dedicated to just power this unit. I ran a new power wire from the circuit panel from a separate breaker and installed the outlet behind the unit.

Very nice. Have it 4 stars cause I thought the heater fan was more forceful. Fan is quiet and produces heat but I do not believe it heats a 400 sq. ft. area as description states. Very easy to install. Hardest part was removing from packaging. Realistic flame. Like the added touch of the fire screens and glass doors.

This is the best looking electric fireplace. We burn "real firewood" every day and have always thought the electric one's were a bit cheesy but they did a great job designing this LegendFlame. We wanted the ambiance and heat of a fire in our Den without the wood mess and we love this one...especially at the price point! We installed it about 6 months ago and it's performing perfectly. Pros: The flame intensity, speed and color options let you set it up just the way you like it. The glow in the logs is awesome. The fact that the flickering flame also shows under the logs adds a lot to the realistic appearance. The 2 glass doors and the screen also add to the realism. EASY to install. Returnable if you don't like it. Cons: I will say the crackling sound is a bit "tinny" but we don't tend use it (maybe because it sounds tinny?). Don't be put off by the color tones in my attached picture, the camera catches color differently than the eye...in actuality, it looks great.

Excellent insert well made, easy to use and I love the look!!. My old fireplace had gas log 24" and had to be vented and a pain to start/ light pilot. There were so many choices and expensive fix's. THEN I found this Legend! I just wanted a new look, with a an easy fix of electric LED s in color , sound, with optional lights or with heat 750wattlow/1500watt high. It isn't used for my major use in heating house but the unit has adjustable flame speed logs, mood color LED's as background, and a crackling sound's option with remote. I also, got the matching blk metal surround . Love the glass doors and chain r/l curtain. I needed to get a 9'/10' ft med duty 14/3g extension cord.( mjor aplc). to run to left side wall power receptacle, which i hid along brick btm frt. It is so cozy and nice to have a fireplace like feel. I like the low flame setting with doors closed and no backlight nor heat. You just want to stare a gaze into and a warm ease of piece of mind that its safe, well made, cat proof, remote control, with an excellent support/service if i had any ?'s , install etc. Have used alot and no issues. Doesn't look cheap, value was fine. Just measure and remember its not a smokey fire . It's safe. Make sure your circuit (other things plugged in) that it runs on can handle if you choose heat setting in watts. etc. For me lights and look is fine with! ps. the ad pic flame doesn't have a lil blue/orange which mine has , my unit is EFB263B all okay.

The LegendFlame Damon 28" electric fireplace works great and looks even better. It’s the most realistic electric fireplace I could find—my family and I really enjoy the look of the flames and the gentle crackling sound. It gives all the cozy atmosphere of a real fire without any of the hassle. The heater feature is nice for warming up right in front of the fireplace (very similar to the feel of sitting close to a real one), but it’s not designed to heat an entire room. The product description makes that clear, and it performs exactly as stated. What I wanted most was the ambiance of a fire, and this absolutely delivers. Anytime I want that cozy glow, I just click the power button on the remote and it turns right on to my last settings. The only exception is the heater mode—you do have to select that again if you want heat, which is no problem. Highly recommend if you’re looking for realistic flames and a simple way to add warmth and atmosphere to a space.

As an Amazon vine voice I've had the opportunity to review many types of electric fireplaces.However they are not all in the same category in functionality or design.I will do my bet to provide a comparison review between only two models for this review due to their similarities,hopefully providing consumers with enough information to make an educated purchase decision.Today I will be comparing the "Legend Flame Damon " against the "Pura flame Klaus" .Both models arrived beyond expertly packed, so there is no need to worry about any incurred damage during shipping,which is a major plus.Both are beautifully designed,including firebox with faux brick lined chamber,attached mesh screen and glass doors,giving them an extremely realistic appearance.Both are easy to instal included remotes,and provide heat.However "Legend flame"provides batteries and a remote with temperature display "Pura Flame" doesn't.It is important to know that these aren't meant to be used a sol heating souce,but are able to provide zone heating for an average size room effectively.Both brands have realistic looking logs,however the burning ember bed and log effect is a more realistic on the "Puraflame",but legend flame has better speakers,that produce superior realistic crackling sound effects.Both provide spot lighting effects,to suit personal taste."Pura Flame offers only a 3 setting red light effect,while "legend Flame"offers an array of color options for those who prefer added ambiance,with the last setting having an ever changing light display fading from one color to the next.What I would like to see added to both models is a flickering light effect that will produce the ambiance of a real fire that envelopes the entire room its placed in."Legend flame "offers multiple flame speed settings "Pura Flame" doesn't.Both models are priced similarly,however the "Pura Flame" smallest model is 23 inches as opposed to "legend Flames"28.Concurrently "Legend Flame " has a timer setting built into its remote which "Pura Flame" lacks.Personally I like both units but appreciate some of the extras that Legend flame offeres,such as the flame speed contol,shut off timer,temperature display,and included batteries.However being a fireplace purist,I can do without the multiple color settings,however I'm sure some will appreciate this option.Both models are great however there is always room for improvement.In a prefect world these two manufactures would join forces combining the best parts of their models thereby creating one perfect electric fireplace in my opinion.Hopefully both will have the opportunity to read this review and learn from their competitors shortcomings.Doing so will undoubtedly increase sales dramatically and form long lasting happy customer relations.In conclusion I really do like the "legend Flame" model and feel that it is a quality manufactured product,that was beautifully and thoughtfully designed.Hopefully this review has provided everyone,with an unbiased contrasting description,to assist with their decision.However I'm aware that taste is subjective and some may prefer certain aspects to others.Most importantly consumers can feel secure in the knowledge that the "Legend Flame Damon" is a quality built and designed product,that can benefit from some slight improvements.Noatably this business is managed responsibly,and provides excellent customer service quickly,and effectively.So for those deciding to place this order,rest assured that if any unforeseen problems should arise,they will be resolved to the customers satisfaction.Hopefully those deciding to make this purchase will appreciate their model of choice,as much as I do mine.
