I wanted a light to mount to my Laguna Revo 18/36 lathe. This light looks similar to one Laguna offers but this one is about 1/3 the price, and this one is LED rather than halogen, which I consider to be a plus. As others have noted, it does NOT mount directly to Laguna's accessory pad. I solved this by using a piece of 1/8" aluminum that I already had. I drilled holes in that aluminum to match the mounting pattern on the Laguna and then drilled holes in the other portion of the plate that match this light's mounting pattern. This works just fine. I had to adjust the tension on the joints in the arm until I got the joints so they would hold a position but could still be maneuvered to a different position. This might be easier on the Laguna light but I found it doable with this light. The light from this is nice, plenty of illumination for work on bowls, etc. I think it's more of a daylight Kelvin light than halogen lights would be but I have no problem with that. ... show more

    • Lamp head is too heavy to swing out to the side. limited usefulness.
It works, but the lamp housing is WAY too heavy and it won't stay in place extended horizontally. I got it to mount on wall behind wood lathe but the lamp housing is just way too heavy for the rest of the unit to be able to support the lamp when extended out horizontally so it has a limited range from where it is mounted - as long as you keep the arms vertical in relation to the base mounting it golds up fine, but try and swing it to get a sideways angle (such as shining into a hollow form) the weight of the head just follows gravity no matter how tight you snug up those screws. So for my needs it has limited functionality - I'm going to local home center and get a LED track lamp head and modify it to remove that excessively lamp head from the equation. It was cheap enough but I still feel like it was a waste of money. ... show more

The light is excellent. However, I bought it for my Laguna 18BX bandsaw and the base is to small and the screw threads are not the same as the bandsaw. I’m hoping it will fit on my Laguna 36/18 lathe, I have not tried hooking it up yet. The basic product is great I just wish description was more thorough and said what machine it would fit. ... show more

The light works good, vert bright. The cord is just a little too short for my needs and ends up unplugging occasionally. I have this mounted on my wood lathe and it occasionally needs tightening of the joints or else it sags
