Be sure to turn on the switch! Under its tail is a toggle switch. When turned to "on", it worked much better (go figure)! It'll light up when plugged in with the toggle switch to "off", but it will be very dim. That said, it would work well as a nightlight with the switch set to "off". This basically means it has 6 different light settings, which is kind of a nice added feature. The light is still not SUPER bright, but as a desk lamp or a reading lamp, it works well. It's simply too small to light up a whole room - reasonable expectations. I use this on my headboard and it's perfect for that. It's enough light to read by, or find something in the night, without disturbing my husband. It doesn't take up much space, and it's very cute! The touch switch makes it easy to turn on in the dark - although sometimes it can be a bit TOO easy to turn on... I also appreciate that it can be unplugged and used on battery. We lose power a lot. It's nice that I can take my little dinosaur buddy along to go find the lanterns, or for a quick trip to the bathroom. I haven't put the batteries to the test yet, but at the very least it should work well as a quick easy to find light that'll get me to the bigger lanterns!

This desk lamp is very cute and I like the design a lot, however, it is quite dim. If you wanted to use this as a desk lamp, or for reading, I think it will not be bright enough for those uses. If you need it for a dim night light, it serves this function great. I got it to use with my turntable so I can see my records more clearly when I am playing them in the evening, for my use the light is bright enough, but even for this scenario, I wish it was a little bit brighter. The 3 light settings give you different color light options but they are all equally dim in my experience.

This thing is super cute with nice little details, even down to where the charger plugs in. The only negatives are that it doesn't feel super well crafted (you can see the seams in the plastic from the mold) and it's not as bright as I would have liked. It's more of a nightlight than a lamp. The three color settings are subtle.

This item should not be listed as a lamp. It should be listed as a night light. Even on the brightest setting, it's not a lamp. It's not a quality made item. Very cheaply made and it shows. It can be considered cute by children, I guess. This would be good as a night light especially for a child or a baby. It does tip over easily if the neck is not positioned far enough back over the body. The body should have been made heavier to be able to pull the light forward. As a lamp, I do not recommend. As a night light, I do recommend.

You wouldn't expect this to cast a lot of light for a desk, but there isn't a LOT of light, very gentle warm light. Decent construction, but the seams are just a little off. It's not perfect but it is unbelievable cute. Because it does not throw a lot of light it would be great for a little one's dinosaur theme nursery too as a nightlight.

This is so cute. It's just what I had hoped it would be. I'm using this in my apartment for when my young nephew comes over, so he can have some light. This was packaged very well. And this wasn't damaged in transport. It is easy to use and set up. It has about seven hours of charge time and can be charged via USB. Works very well. And should produce enough light for my nephew. I can even use it when he isn't here. Ha. I liked the dinosaur shape, so this can be good for the kids in your life or the adult children we adults still are. Very giftable and a great value.
