    • Short stories were amazing, everything else was alright
First off the bad: They did Bandle City very dirty. They gave it only one page and just pasted a couple paragraphs word for word from the website that briefly explains what the area is. Every where else got 30-ish pages, most with short stories. Each area had about 1/2 of it's pages dedicated to small snippet explaining lore of that area alongside art. Some of it is interesting, but most of it is very lackluster, often without much detail. They only give each snippet of a couple sentences at most. Hardly enough to get into detail and make it interesting. The good: The short stories are fantastic. Some of these sit among the best stories I've read. I was so impressed by one that I looked up the writer to find out what books they have written. Surely a writer that good has lots of experience...nope. It's just some Riot employee with no notable writing experience. I'm saying this as a good thing, professional quality stories even for the ones written by non-authors. The art was also good, but I was not blown away by any of it. Some cool stuff in there for sure though. I was not impressed with the print quality, but that is not to say it bad. It was at least refreshing to see that every page was colored and decorated with art. The okay: The binding is not very strong and the back pages split despite properly breaking in the book. Annoying but not a big deal to me. The book came a bit damaged with some dents, but I bought with other items and it seems this may have been removed from the original packaging to be placed into the larger box with other items. ... show more

Item arrived in good condition and delivered just before Worlds 2019 Finals. The first official League of Legends companion book is filled with information about the currently known Realms of Runeterra. You'll get illustrations, trivias, and even stories from the major regions -- some of them you cannot find in the Universe section of the official site. Perfect for collectors, lovers of the League's lore, and the casual audience who want to explore Runeterra with or without playing the game. With the franchise expanding into comics, animated series, and other games like Legends of Runeterra, this book is an nice addition to the collection. Unfortunately, there are fewer Teemos in this book than expected. I would like to see Riot Games release a book containing detailed information for each Champion -- Champions of Runeterra Vol. 1 -- where we get nitty gritty with early concepts, new illustrations, champion abilities at the time of release, lores and stories, trivias like date of release, voice actors and splash art artists, how many times reworked to-date, and maybe some side information featuring the Champion's skins. ... show more
