Description

The French Press is one of the easiest methods to make great tasting coffee at home. Coarsely ground coffee beans or loose tea leaves are steeped in boiling water, and then filtered away by plunging the mesh sieve through the press. Beautiful! Makes great coffee and looks great. Heat it up with hot water before you make the coffee in it so it will stay hot. I do that with the mugs as well. Other than that it’s perfect.

    • Is the price worth it?

Although I love the beauty of the piece, the color was more blue tone than what I thought was in the picture (which I believed was more of a mint gradient near the top). I don't believe that the unit outperforms a typical glass or stainless steel model (nor does it underperform in any way). I find myself handling it very carefully where as with a stainless steel model you might think "whoops" as you bump the edge of the sink after rinsing it out versus the fear of having just destroyed $80. I had hoped that the material would retain heat better than it does (which is still better than glass however not as well as a stainless steel with double wall I used at an AirBnb recently)... You can still take your time before heading back for the second cup, but not too long. If the esthetics are what you are looking for then you will love the piece. ... show more

Ok. Love the look. Fits with other marbles I have. But the strainer doesn’t keep the grounds out. I’ve been using a tea strainer when I pour my coffee. My old,much cheaper, french press doesn’t require that. Seems like a no brainer that company should have fixed before selling.

The "stainless steel" strainer tested positive for lead. I'm extremely disappointed - this is an old, respected brand, so I assumed that, even though they'd outsourced to China, there would still be quality control. I have been drinking coffee EVERY DAY for over a year made in this lead-contaminated product. I had to make my coffee by boiling water in my instant pot this morning, and straining it through a cheese cloth. It's sad and scary how much lead is in Chinese "stainless steel".
