    • good lightweight tool but with a few missing nice to have options
This is for the 22pc version. The nice thing about this is that is is light and cordless. The battery life wasn't an issue for me. I just recharged it between uses and they were not marathon sessions. So ymmv on that. It is aiming to be like a Dremel, but it has only 2 speeds, but is is around half the price.. Depending on what your task is, you can make it bog down, but for the vast majority of tasks, it'll be good enough. The task I chose as my test one was cutting thru a rubber grip, then an aluminum handle that had galled onto a hose end. I borrowed a cutoff wheel from my Dremel kit to cut the rubber and the aluminum. The rubber was pretty thick and the deeper I got the more the motor struggled due to the surrounding drag from the rubber. Once the rubber was cleared from the area I had to cut on the aluminum handle, it was fine. The high speed and the cutting disk cut a nice groove in the handle. I was able to insert a screwdriver in the groove to split the threaded handle and thus remove it from the hose end. That brings me to the missing "nice to have options." This should have 2 things: some cutting wheels and a case. A few cutting wheels would make this much more versatile. Also, a cheap molded plastic case in the box would be better than just storing it in the original packaging. In any event, those are minor issues that do little to take away (aside from 1 star) from this tool being very handy and capable. It is billed as an engraving tool, but it can do so much more with the right attachments. All my Dremel ones seemed to be compatible. ... show more

    • Works pretty good
I got this to use when I do crafts and wood carving. I figured for $30, I can't go wrong. It comes packaged very well and includes a lot of accessories (sanding bands, grinding wheels, carving and engraving bits, etc). I did some testing on carving things in oak & pine. It did fine. These small tools don't typically have the strongest motor or batteries. This one is no different. While carving, if I pressed too hard into the wood, it would bog down a little bit (which is not much different than with my more expensive rotary tool. It fits my hand very well and is surprisingly quiet. It has a high/low speed setting. I wish it had a more adjustable speed ability. I like the fact that it is rechargeable. Plug it into any USB and it charges right up. I didn't use it very long so I can't say how long the battery lasts before recharging is needed. What little I did use it to test it out...it worked fine. The only cons I can see is that you don't have much control over the speed (high or low only) and it isn't the most powerful motor. For light duty stuff, I think it will work fine. ... show more

    • No more losing things because my name isnt on it!
The days of things walking away and getting lost because my name and number was not engraved on it have ended! I have spent a few days with this pen going around and engraving my info on everything that is not nailed down. The battery allows me to not have to find an outlet to plug into and I can just engrave and go. I am not sure what else I can say about this great engraver, there are so many uses for it, we use it all the time and it has been an indispensable piece of kit. ... show more

This cordless rotary tool is great! Cordless and powerful. The battery lasts a long time and the accessories are great. This is just as good as any other tool in it's class. Great product to have in your shop, workshop, or toolkit.
