I have a glass window on my door. That looks straight into my kitchen and I needed privacy at night when the lights are on. I know I could place a window cling which works as well. But you can still see a dark shadow if there is a person there and I’d rather you not be able to see anything. In the daytime I roll it up. Love this! We recently remodeled our closet and had a glass door and were rudely awakened and shocked but how little our 'light blocking blinds' don't block the light. Didn't want fabric on the door or something you'd have to see. This works perfectly. If putting it on a door, you do have to be careful about the door handle. It fits perfectly behind the handle, if you have a door knob, I am not sure if it would get in the way, thus letting light through because it wouldn't sit flush with the door. ... show more

The shades stuck to my door no problem. I do have a steel door. I’ve had it stuck up there about two weeks and it hasn’t fallen off so I think it’s pretty good. You do have to roll it back up.
