    • Just like the old corded 1” mini-blinds
These mini-blinds are like the older blinds with cords. I read the reviews for cordless mini-blinds but didn’t like the fact that you couldn’t adjust the length and some reviewers said it was difficult to raise or lower the cordless blinds. These old school blinds are easily adjustable for length, plus if you keep the slats you don’t currently need you could replace any slats that might get bent (in the future) with the ones you’ve saved. I didn’t use the mounting brackets that came with the blinds because I already had the cube-shaped brackets at the window from the old 1” blinds. I was also skeptical about the mounting brackets because of their configuration and because other reviewers said they couldn’t make them work. I also bought the cube-shaped brackets here on Amazon for an installation at another window. Overall it was easy to install and it operates as it should. The price was not that bad. I bought two different sizes, one came sooner than expected (by about three days), the other came later than expected (by about three days).     • They worked and are less brittle than a newer cheap brand that was installed for me.

I needed corded blinds to replace the newer, cheap crappy blinds that broke easily. They darken my room better, though the slats were a different size. I was able to use the old hardware and not have to drill new holes.

    • Three reasons not to buy (4' wide x 5' high item)

1. Operating rod for tilt mechanism is waaay to short. My window is 60" (5') tall and is over a workbench. I had to extend the rod with a 14" piece of rod cut from my old blind rod. I connected the rod and extension together with a piece of pliable plastic tubing. 2. Raising and lowering cords are on the right-hand side of the blind. This results in needing to have adequate clearance to the right of the window. If the right side of your window is in a room corner, close to a wall it's likely you won't have space to pull the cords far enough to lock the blind up. In my case I have a 12" deep wall cabinet immediately to the right of my window making operating the cords difficult but possible with patience. 3. Bonus reason: My blind arrived with a dent in the head channel. Fortunately, it was on the backside of the channel and overall, the channel was straight. All of the packaging was pristine, so the only explanation is the channel was bent at the manufacturing or initial shipping facility. I do not recommend buying blinds from the outfit. ... show more

These blinds were easy and intuitive to install, but they're really quite flimsy and awkward to operate. The pull cord needs to be pulled at a pretty hard angle in order to catch. I installed these blinds on a window a couple inches from the corner of the room, and I have to hold the cord *above* my head in order to get it to catch. The blinds themselves are very lightweight, and although they can be secured at the bottom as well, they're so light that they move in a slight breeze. You can secure the blinds at the bottom or get used to the "clank clank" factor. I bought these blinds specifically because I rent, and I wanted to match the other blinds in the apartment as closely as I could (they're older blinds with pull cords). I don't think it was worth trying to match so closely. There is so much more variety, and such higher quality, in modern cordless blinds. ... show more
