Easy to use, great Value!
I purchased this on Prime day, so I bought this on sale. Partly the reason I purchased. I have owned this now several months, about 2-3 tank fulls of fuel run through the machine. I wanted a backpack style blower mostly for the power it has. It has greatly surprised me. Battery charged fine, followed the instructions on the label. Primed the bulb a few times and it fired up. The start up sequence and choke are completely automated. I suppose it was to be understood, but I like details. I kept pushing the button for just a second or two. It didn't want to start at first. I finally understood you have to HOLD down the button. It will go through a choke cycle before and during start up. Once I understood this I have had zero start up issues. Others have mentioned it's heavy, I don't find it heavy and neither did my wife. Several women have used it and they love it. The only detraction, is I was expecting more CFM, but it's definitely adequate. Happy Customer. ... show more

Electric start backpack blower
This little blower is really nice. It's light weight, doesn't use a lot of gas, and we love the electric start! My wife wanted a blower and so I thought it would be neat to have an electric start blower so she didn't have to fuss with starting it up each time. With this machine, she just flips the choke lever, puts the backpack on, and presses the start button. Amazing! It can be a little strange at first using the start button. It makes some odd noises that don't sound like the starter in your car, or maybe anything you've heard. But, keep holding the start button while it makes it's noises, and it will soon start up. If the battery is low, which only charges with a separate charger, it may have a hard time starting. It's comfortable on your back, and puts out a pretty decent amount of air. This is not a commercial blower, so don't expect gale force winds. But for what it is, it moves air really nicely, and plenty for most blowing applications around the house. Wet leaves can be tough, but only when they pile up. ... show more

Now it won't start.
***EDIT 11/19/24 Over the course of several months, the leaf blower became more difficult to start. When it was started, it ran considerably rough over a period of time before it would smooth out. Recently, while clearing my property of leaves, it stopped running. It made a noise that it can only be described as rocks in a can and then stopped. Despite my best efforts, it will not restart. It will crank, and does not start. I am pretty sure the motor has locked up. My best estimate is that the leaf blower has about 20 hours on it and is 7 months old and has a blown motor despite using high quality fuel. Lawn master's customer support has been abysmal. I have sent multiple emails to support and have not received a reply. I also have the assurion purchase protection plan. And they have been difficult to deal with as well, basically ignoring my claim. Amazon needs to do better. –-----------‐---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I bought this for my wife as a Mother's Day present. She really loves using it. I'm enjoying using it too. The electric start is fantastic. The auto choke is a nice feature to have. She can strap it on press the button and it will start right up. I have found that as long as there is gas visible in the sight glass/primer. I haven't had to cold prime it. Just press the button and go. I left it outside over night during a cold snap to see how it would start with out priming it and it started right up. The automatic choke did it's thing and kicked it into high idle until I hit the throttle. The performance has been great. It does what it's supposed to to. Large or small debris it gets the job done. The pack itself is well cushioned and comfortable to wear. It's a little cumbersome to take on and off. Make sure you use the proper 40:1 fuel. It can be purchased premixed at Home Depot or Lowes. Proper fuel is the key to keeping this thing running well for years to come. Charge the battery fully out of the box and you should be good to go for a while. When the red light comes on charge it. ... show more

No back up starting, electric start only.
Works great, light weight. Only got about 5 engine starts on a charged battery, so battery is on charge constantly. What I really do not like about this blower is that there is no backup starting. In other words, there is no pull chord so when the battery dies...that's it, gonna have to wait until the battery is charged again. ... show more

Back Blower works well after a year review
I’ve had the blower for over a year now and I was skeptical at first to have a small engine machine with such a small battery that claimed to have over a hundred and fifty starts before needing recharging because doing the growing season I use daily to my surprise it actually works really well as I’m older and the fact that it’s lighter in weight and easy to start crucial and I need the extra run time so and all electric wouldn’t work for me, Couple of tips for success only use premixed fuel it’s stable and won’t cause unnecessary wear and tear on the starter including gumming up your carburetor I did have to have a spring replaced once I did get in touch with Lawn master they were prompt to send the part over all I’m satisfied with the performance I do have a extra battery to swap as needed two- months or better usually before charging ... show more

Lighter weight and electric start, no No more cord to pull
We justovrd onto a brand new house and they tried to establish a lawn but failed. Now,I have a company that's coming over in a few weeks to seed arriate the ground but I need to get the straw and other debris off of the ground. When I saw this advertised here on Amazon, I knew that I needed a larger ower for the job. I have used this to start getting the straw up and it had worked well. One thing that perked my interest was the fact that this is an electric start. No more pulling a rope to start the engine and then placing the motor on your back while on. Now You just pump the tree ubber bulb to get the 40:1 mixture ready for the carburator then put it on your back and press the start button located on your hand control. And off you go. I also was on I formed if this new mixture where the oil nd gas are already .ixed and ready to pour into the fuel tank. Do no more buying oil and mixing it with gas. Just pour out of the can and your good to go. Also, this won't foul up your carburator By causing long time storage either. So no more worrying about it not starting for the next season. ... show more

UPDATE NUMBER 3, HOW TO START June 2026
UPDATE NUMBER 3, HOW TO START June 2026 I’m upgrading this blower to 3 stars because after years of frustration, I’ve learned a trick about starting the confounded motor in warm/hot weather. It’s nearly bulletproof. The trick? Never, ever touch the priming bulb. Even one push of the bulb seems to flood the carburetor. Make sure you have a good battery charge, push the start button. Don’t touch anything else, not the throttle, nothing, zip, nada. The motor will turn over but likely won’t start. Repeat the same process again. You’ll probably get the same result but don’t give up. If you continue a few times, eventually like magic the motor will start (at least MINE does). As soon as the motor starts, immediately goose the throttle a couple of times. The motor might want to stall at idle (and if it does, good luck), so I use the “cruise control” toggle to slightly increase idle speed. Once the motor is good and warm, you can reduce idle speed to its normal setting. Maybe my experience won’t help one other person, but I felt obligated to share with other frustrated owners of this blower. I will say this: once the blower is humming along, man, it blows really well. UPDATE NUMBER 2, December 2025 Well I haven’t disposed on this blower yet and haven’t yet used it as a boat anchor. I don’t have a boat, anyway. I’m writing this update because one pattern has become obvious. The blower will usually start fairly easily on a moderately cool day or even a cold winter day like now, if the engine is cool. If it’s a hot summer day or if the engine is warm, it doesn’t want to start This pattern leads me to believe that the automatic choke is the culprit. Maybe a 2 stroke expert could figure it out and make some kind of adjustment, I don’t know. If any of you have had a similar experience and might have a suggestion, I’d be appreciative. I’ll say this: On those days when I’m actually able to start it, man this thing is a very powerful blower. To the manufacturer (still Cleva? I don’t know…) I ask if the current model still has the same choke design. If it still utilizes the same automatic choke, you really need to re engineer. I think your sales could greatly improve if this blower would start predictably in almost any season. MY FIRST UPDATE (FROM 2022?): I wrote the following 5 star review last year, but now like many others, the blower absolutely refuses to start. I really take good care of everything I own and the leaf blower has seen only light personal usage. I’ve used only high quality premixed 40:1 fuel, I’ve replaced the spark plug with a better E3 plug, etc. I’m fairly mechanical and followed the troubleshooting instructions to the letter. Still it refuses to start, so I called Cleva (the manufacturer) customer service and was told that the nearest authorized service center is nearly 200 miles away, keeping in mind that all transportation costs are the owner’s responsibility. 200 miles?!!?? I live about 15 minutes from the Tri Cities area of East Tennessee with a population of approximately 200,000. I live 70 minutes east of Asheville, NC. I live 90 minutes north of the Knoxville TN SMA with a population of almost 900,000. Even with all those people surrounding me, I’d have to ship the failing blower nearly 200 miles while eating the cost both ways. Ridiculous. Not only that, but Cleva customer service said I must document the purchase info (no problem) plus the model and serial number. I searched every inch of the blower and see no serial number anywhere, so I called customer service again to ask where the serial number is located. He didn’t know and said maybe it’s somewhere near the battery. I looked and it’s not there. The frustrations and cost are not worth the trouble, so I’ll probably just buy a new leaf blower from one of the “big box” hardware stores. This LeafMaster blower seemed like a good value, but not so great if it lasts only a single mowing season. Based on its short lifespan and poor warranty arrangements, I’ve changed my rating to 1 star and definitely discourage you from wasting your money in these harsh economic times. I believe one or both of the “big box” hardware stores now also carry the LeafMaster blower, so I’ll try to warn buyers there, as well. MY ORIGINAL 5 STAR REVIEW: Overall I’m really pleased so far. I’ve used this blower approximately 20 times and it blows like a hurricane. That’s a huge plus, as well as the great push button starting feature and “cruise control” feature. The blower is heavy, though, so it’s not easy to mount over my shoulders. I'm a 180 lb male, so I think it would be super difficult for a small person. Also, the motor utilizes a “push bulb” type priming system and the instructions say that you should depress the bulb 5 times to start a cold motor. My experience doesn’t support this. I’ve learned that depending on temperature and whenever the blower was last used, 2 or 3 pushes of the bulb might be enough or else the carburetor will flood. Sometimes on a chilly day, it might require 7 or 8. This is hard to describe, but as I push the primer bulb, I only push it enough times until I can feel a squirting sensation of the fuel. BTW, I only use a high quality specialized 2 cycle premixed fuel, which eliminates any guesswork from mixing gas and oil. It burns much cleaner, too, with no oily buildup. Overall this blower is a good value ... show more
