Light is on the "cold" side, but I have it pointing at my laptop so I have "ambient" sunlight (and I wear blue-blockers anyway). I believe it helps me focus? I'm not doing any kind of experiment with different vendors and I don't have SAD, per se, just a bit hibernate-y during the winter. No guarantees, but I'm satisfied with it. Won't illuminate a room, but will illuminate a focused spot. OH! Turn it off by early afternoon! This is a knockoff of a Lights of America model, which Lights of America no longer produces. Love this one, works well, no problems and the price was much lower than the original name brand version. Replacement bulbs can be had at about 1/4 the price of the original ones.

I bought this lamp to use while glazing my ceramics. My eyes aren't what they used to be and I just needed a little more light. I wasn't sure if this would do the trick but it's great. Has a variety of brightnesses and I can raise the head of the lamp to spotlight exactly what I'm working on.
