  • Incredible Machine!
I originally looked at the Lavazza Blue Classy Mini and then saw the Extra Classy Plus for cheaper than the Mini. I've had a higher end K-cup machine as well as a pump driven Gaggia Classic espresso machine. I've never had a machine like this and it works flawlessly. After using all 3, I'll stick with the Lavazza Classy Plus. Just as good of espresso without the mess of cleanup of a dedicated espesso machine. I was concerned that the frother top lid would be some cheap plastic. However, I saw that it was of a semi-flexible thick rubbery plastic and it is not brittle. The machine works flawlessly. Even my wife, who does not drink coffee, was impressed that I could make a macchiato with almond milk in less than 1 minute. Setup is easy, the machine is very sleek, very quiet and puts out coffee bar quality coffee. I also made my first espresso lungo with the push of a button. It still had a thick Crema on top. The other thing I like about this particular brand is the low cost of their coffee. It is much cheaper per capsule than K-Cup or Nespresso. You're able to get top notch espresso of a very similar quality as a coffee bar for around 30 cents per shot. To me, that is just a great deal. Right now, Amazon has an incredible deal on this machine. I think it was $138. Heck, the Mini Blue which only does shots of espresso is $178! Why not get the larger machine that can do so many other drinks, is able to use both Lavazza Blue or Extra capsules and also has a much larger water tank? I do not regret this purchase at all. Beautiful machine! BTW, the handle is metal, mechanism is smooth and the sidewalls are of a glossy deep blue. VERY pretty on the countertop. ... show more

  • Much better than the entry-level version.
I have to say, this product works as I hoped it would work. I got a deal on it during APD, for almost the same price as the entry-level one (which I used, in Turin, this summer). Glad I did. It has some heft to it, even if it is largely a bunch of plastic parts with some metal flourishes. Easy to set up. Easy to fill. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Minimal noise (as if that should really be a complaint . . . have you heard real espresso machines doing their thing?). Speaking of which, the issue of flavor is really an issue of which pods you use, not the machine itself. I use the blue ones. Sometimes I do a single. Sometimes I do a double (a lungo if you are snob). Good crema. Good flavor in both instances. Is it the same as owning a real espresso machine? Of course not! But it is close enough and convenient enough to be just the ticket when I am not drinking drip coffee. I can't comment on customer service, as I haven't need it to this point. I can't comment on breaking the water holder, as I don't try to fill it while my hands are covered in duck grease. I also can't comment on parts breaking because I shoved them back in at odd angles. I tend to be gentle. I can say, as an aside, that the price of a bulk of the blue pods is more than reasonable (though, again, that has nothing to do with this machine). I would hesitate to recommend this product at full price. I will also add that I don't use the steamer/milk functions, as I don't drink those sorts of coffee drinks. But, on sale? YES. ... show more

  • Just amazing
I've had this coffee maker for over 6 months. I use purified water. I have never had to descale it yet. The coffee comes out exactly the same every single time. It's an amazing machine. Cappuccinos ,lattes, macchiatos or just espressos are fantastic. I drink sometimes up to 4 or 5 cups a day. This machine has not once given me any issues. The fact that the cup comes with the measurement and it can froth up the milk for you is perfect. I am terrible at using a real espresso machine because I was never able to tamper it properly. Espressos would come out either 2 weak or too strong. Or a very bitter. None of those issues happen with this machine. You get amazing flavored coffee that tastes the same every single time. My recommendation is to use only purified water, never tap or spring. Literally within less than 2 minutes. You can have a professional tasting cappuccino that you'd possibly pay over $5 for in a coffee shop. Only drawback is that the capsules aren't readily available everywhere. I've only been able to find them on Amazon for a great price. Being an Italian made machine most of the capsules come from Italy and are only from lavazza. But amazing coffee is contained in those capsules. If you're looking for coffee flavor variety, this may not be the machine for you. If you are looking for consistently great tasting coffee that you can customize in a variety of ways. This is definitely machine for you. By adding just some sugar and spices to the milk before inserting it into the machine to froth it up for whatever drink you'd want, you make yourself a professional tasting beverage without any mess and faster than you can boil water. One of my favorite things to do is to have the espresso shot over ice in a mason jar, where I'll add the milk and sugar and everything else needed and just shake it up to have a very nice iced latte comparable to my favorite cup from Starbucks. (iced brown sugar oat milk latte w/cinnamon) ... show more
